Well, the night king basically has so many wights that are easily replaced that Viserys taking the time to kill a couple thousand isn't really worth it. Also there is the risk of the night king being able to shoot down Balerion even though its very unlikely.

Viserys, likewise, could not slay his opponent. Both sides stepping back became the optimal solution; otherwise, further fighting would merely increase their losses without any gain.

I love this story and am super thankful for this translation. I've reached chapter 401, and the story's still going strong. There are a couple more viewpoints the longer the story goes on, but I enjoy most of them, and there actually important.

You can never have too many grappling hooks

He took the time to replace his feathers, create more grappling hooks to compensate for his lack of flight, and craft more arrows for his bow as well. He had replenished all of his other munitions and was basically back to his current 'prime' with the exception of his flight.

I'm really sorry for such a late update, and double sorry for it ending up pretty short. Alot happened this past month ranging from me getting food poisoning to my sibling getting blackmailed.
