I'm not trying to bash your story, just giving constructive criticism to build it up, it has potential but you just have to fix the plot holes. A major one is food, you have an interesting concept where people come back as undead after being killed the problem with this is mc is a vampire which should need blood and if the undead and the downside immediately rots than thats a problem for him, maybe delay the whole rot progression to something like 2 weeks after undead state, does this extend to animals or creatures cause food stuff will bleed dry fast in the apocalypse without rationing and even than it will eventually run out; so does animals, monster, creatures or whatever do they become undead immediately after being killed if so again the delay rot works as they can get the bodies into a cooler to preserve it for future use

also shouldn't him being a vampire give him vampire powers like regeneration, super strength and speed, blood manipulation, claw transformation, bat metamorphosis, mist metamorphosis, charming eyes but I haven't seen nothing at least give him something to fight with like claws or blood manipulation lesser or something, so far the only indication is enhanced senses and a little agility and strength, seen other such novels where mc and others had more of a fighting chance then this

zombies that have regeneration cool concept and all but it is a bit too ridiculous this early into everything especially when I haven't seen any indication of mc getting stronger with kills or anything beside the little his vampire transformation gave him and his mentally finally adapting to the situation. If he and anyone gets surrounded by a horde which can just regenerate any damage giving, they cooked. I mean the guys head reattached itself to him so crushing his skull would do little to nothing if it can regenerate. Unless you change that from happening and indicate that crushing or cutting off the head is a sure kill they cooked.
