The main character has some kind of mental disorder and possibly impotence. He views women only as potential targets for elimination. No hints of sympathy. I don't see any hints of cold-bloodedness, rather obsessive ideas or manias. A normal, healthy man behaves differently.
Your doubts are justified, bro. While David is getting vivid descriptions of his intimate life, the main character is getting a finger in the ass, literally.
When the leader is an idiot, the whole group suffers. They have a hostile group on their doorstep and instead of finding their location or preparing to attack, they fuck in the pool and go to the supermarket. Dumbass.
I'm on chapter 7. MC is such an idiot. Being among unfriendly, hormonal teenagers, he left his only firearm in the tent and went wandering around the camp. As a logical result, the weapon was stolen. You can stop reading now.
MC is a petty, resentful, racist piece of shit. I don't know what the author's problems are, but this eternal whining of blacks about how their ancestors had it bad in slavery and what bastards all Europeans are for not begging for their forgiveness is already boring. Maybe that's enough already? The original characters have sharply lost their critical thinking due to the author's arbitrariness. For example, Hershel will never, under any circumstances, leave his farm until a horde of the dead visits him. And here he unexpectedly easily agreed to leave his home. This does not happen, here everyone is clearly either stupid or perpetually high.
You forgot the "mastery of cerebral sex" - a skill that every screenwriter needs.
You must be a bit stupid if you don't understand what happens to fabric that lies in dampness and dust, it rots and falls apart. Let me remind you, there is no electricity, the warehouses are not heated and get damp. And that's not to mention the insects and other pests for whom clothes are the best delicacy.
As usual, they then burned their clothes stained with rotten blood, the towns were abandoned and filled with ownerless clothes, they were not going to stay with the same dirty clothes. (I never understood that in the series).

Usually, when reading a story, you associate yourself with the main character. The author of this fanfic managed to achieve that it is absolutely impossible to associate yourself with the hero of this story. A very dull and gray MC - a drama queen, no charisma, no wisdom, no coolness. Controversial decisions, no authority in the group. And drama, a lot, a lot of drama, in each chapter there is constant drama, which is already sickening. I wanted to see the story of a man's ascent, and not the constant internal experiences of a little crying girl in a man's body.
If a group follows a leader who has no idea who he is taking with him, then that group is doomed. Getting into a car and not checking the back seat is either an authorial arbitrariness or the main character is an imbecile. Same with the ex-wife, it is unnecessary drama, once a traitor, always a traitor.
1 star for the main character being a pathetic clown. That's it. He gets bullied, he gets mocked, he gets humiliated. By whom? Just a bunch of kids, albeit from the main cast of the original story.
