How good of a teacher you are is decided by your ability to teach and Aizawa had none. Is he an excellent hero and guardian? Yes. But he is one of the worst teachers in anime.
A/N: Aizawa is a terrible teacher, a very good hero and overall person but probably the worst not evil-inclined character for teaching heroism. You have to remember that the job of Hero is not being a soldier, it's closer to a mix of police officer and celebrity unlike how he treats it.
