I've read some novels who don't separate genders on a test or travelling on a ship for poor cultivators. Maybe if Liang chen or Xiu Ying was born as a noble, he might complaint or the sect will provide them with private rooms for waiting on the test. But I don't see them being treated as special for just barely passing cultivation grades.
