Some books switch perspectives to other people typically known as villains which cause you to learn their plan to attack the hero before it happens ruining what may be a surprise or scary otherwise
I enjoy the story but I don’t personally like multiple viewpoints as I feel it spoils future content, flashbacks being better in my opinion but yeah I do enjoy reading the book and will most likely enjoy a rewrite or continuation of it

From a quick Google search Poseidon has power over any body of water which include the creatures within, had the ability to create storms earthquakes floods and droughts and line other gods superhuman strength along with the ability to teleport and shapeshift. So what I would start with would be enhanced capabilities like strength endurance speed and all other things that would apply to all demigods/gods first then go for powers of Poseidon.
