I understand him pushing his friends away before going to fight a war with a crime organization to protect them but when brock can clearly see behind the facade there is no point to keep insisting. Besides, after he accepted yellow he opened a door that he can't shut back again, he really need to come clean with brock and misty and let them decide if they wanna join him on his suicide mission by themselves. After this first attack in celadon his friends will 100% put together what he is doing. Poor Ritchie with ptsd, with him joing the tournament there is a high chance of getting caught in the crossfire of Austin's trap and becoming even more traumatized lol.
