Yes it was intended to create superhumans but they failed and the virus ended up becoming a zombie virus this was shown in the last movie in which the umbrella released it deliberately to kill all the humans

I think you are not getting the point. His title makes him immune to zombie virus and t virus is a zombie virus if he wants to use it he would have to disable his title and lose +5 boast even if it is successful he only gets +15 boast
