The problem is that most flaws are just flaws or flaws used to hold the MC back some how. Most Authors don’t use flaws for character development as you put it. And even if they did, it could lead me to not enjoying the MC which in turn sour the reading experience and as a result lead me to not liking the story as a whole. Some stories are just built on the MC and if the MC is bad the stories can be quite unpalatable at times.
