FSSJ becomes canon and at the same time vegeta is one to achieve it, loving it since ssj is so iconic and canonical for goku that timeline changing for that part here would have dire consequences, at the same time vegeta going fssj closes the gap between them while also allowing goku more time to charge genkidama. just hope nappa is revived later
