itachi, at 8 was barely chunin. he manages to reach jounin only by 13 -14. the mc , after so many years of training, should be able to defeat itachi, even if only using ninjutsu. him wanting to hide that ability to use ninjutsu without seals is understandable, but not being incapable of defeating itachi. if you wanted to maintain that, you should not have had him train that much.

... if you had fujin act as cautious as ussual, and not show all his cards , orochimaru would not feel the need to call in external help... its almost like he wanted konoha to get destroyed...
[A/N: Oof, writing is a roller-coaster! Fujin currently is a bit more powerful than I had initially planned for him to be during this arc. It created a lot of issues for me as most of the things I had planned for the Konoha crush became unusable due to his increased strength (though it helped make Fujin Vs Orochimaru much better than my initial plan). So I was quite troubled about how to change those things for quite some time.
