I'm inclined to say that his mentality is influenced by his past life. He doesn't remember anything, but it's more of an echo of who he was that's guiding who he's becoming.
He looked around the remains of his cottage, the place that had been his sanctuary, and realized that he could no longer stay here. This place, once a refuge, was now tainted by the violence that had nearly claimed his life. It was a symbol of his past, of the boy he had been... a boy who had died the moment he chose to fight back.

I don't really get why the author is trying to make this appear weird. Breeding wild animals that have compatible bloodlines to create a superior offspring is pretty normal. We've been doing it for a long time as a species.

Thats only if you apply logic to anger. In truth Lex understands his parents predicament, but that still doesn't solve his anger. Sometimes strong emotions aren't tied to reason or logic.
But regardless of their intentions, he still felt abandoned. He still felt lied to. He still felt betrayed. He was not ready to forgive them, or even care about them. But this was not about him. Instead, it was about his little sister. By now, Lex could already predict who had done this to Moon. It was their grandfather. Lex was already thinking of the special dungeon he'd design for the man back in the Midnight Inn. A sick, twisted, greedy man who used his children and grandchildren for his own gains deserved no sympathy from Lex.

Nah the peak is Nascent realm. Lex is at the pinnacle of power for this realm. Only the Inn's property can contain higher levels without damaging the realm.
It's true that the mc isn't at fault, but to the sect they only care that he hasn't supplied the amount of spirt rice they demand. They just don't care about the MC and are willing to expel him as he's a nobody.
