Nah, Mc won the bet. Said he bets his desert that they'll tell them to investigate. So he wins Lawrence's desert... that's assuming Lawrence will be alive after this confrontation.

Lawrence dropped the radio and turned to Elliot with a triumphant smirk. "You owe me a dessert," he said with satisfaction, adjusting his MP5 and preparing to move.

"Hawk 2 to Mother Hawk, over," he reported, keeping his eyes on the street as he waited for a reply.

"firing" would be a better word lol.

"Coming," he said in a whisper, his eye fixed on the scope, ready to pull the trigger.

couldn't comment on the first para for some reason so I posted it here lol.

Over time, Elliot began to adjust. He grew closer to his roommate, Lawrence, who, despite being a rookie like him, seemed to have an optimistic outlook on life within FEDRA. The relationship between the two blossomed, and Lawrence became something of a friend, someone he could exchange jokes with amidst the tension.

... why would he want to return to his original world? I get this one sucks but the last one was riddled with nuclear bombs. Even if newer bombs don't have the same effects as old one's the explosion is still the same if not worse lol. "going back" wouldn't have necessarily been better than where he's at now. At least here he's got a chance to kind of live.. well, stay alive. Don't know how much living he'll be doing.

I don't care if people have an issue with me saying it, it matters 😋. Especially when it's coming out of the face of someone who knows the difference🧐.

"Now," Stroud continued, pointing at the remaining infected. "Each of you is going to practice. I don't want to see you empty an entire clip like idiots. One shot, one infected dead. That's the rule. And if someone misses... well, you better not miss."

most of the stories I've read, so long as no one's being a dick about it, the authors tend to thank people for pointing out grammatical errors. A lot of people do their own proof reading but most FF Authors have normal lives to live so they sometimes miss things. Pointing out an actual mistake so the author can correct it, weather it's because they missed it or, like you said, English isn't their primary language, isn't necessarily a person being mean or a Grammar Nazi. It's just pointing it out. don't read this as me berating you or going off, I'm just saying. Not everyone that corrects or attempts to make a correction is trying to hound the Author.

His hand moved to a drawing of a clicker, and his voice took on a more serious tone. "The clicker. This is the nightmare of anyone who doesn't know what they're doing. The fungus has grown so much on their head that they've lost their sight, but their hearing is extremely keen. If they make a sound near one of these, they're dead. They're strong, dangerous, and not afraid to get close. If you see one, aim and shoot. If you're out of bullets, make sure your knife is ready."

of course it is. If all they did was beat the hell out of you, at some point people would just lose the will to keep going or they'd start turning on them. It's not like the normal world. If you "flunk out" here you'll either be shot for wasting "their resources" or you'll have to live as a civilian in that crap world. If they don't give the soldiers a reason to put up with all the crap they'll throw at them to train them then the soldiers would turn on the higher ups the moment they're armed.. if not before. No rewards would just bring chaos and this is the last place they fully control. so yes, it's like a bribe lol. put up with the training and you get to live like kings compared to.. basically everyone else.

"I don't know... like some kind of reward. Something to keep us going through all that crap out there." Lawrence gestured toward the window, where the rain continued to batter the glass.
