i’m not sure why she has to hide it. this is getting ridiculous now.
"Mr. Reina likes to call me his daughter sometimes," I say quickly. "You see, I'm really good friends with his daughter, but we're not related." The relief on George's parents' faces is almost comical. They exhale simultaneously, awkward laughter breaking the silence.

i do wonder what the angle will be though. technically, sophie/sophia (can’t remember which is the daughter) didn’t say eve committed the crime. so they didn’t personally defame her. they did deny naming eve the perpetrator but it’s not necessary to name who did it. they alluded to it but someone else can also fit the bill. maybe a friendly maid or whatever. i’m not sure the audio recording can be submitted as evidence since it wasn’t through an interrogation where both parties know their voices are being recorded. i’d say at most it can sway the public opinion.
Eve had struck back. And this time, she hadn't just played their game—she'd shattered the board.

i don’t think kings can be tried. they’ll usually have some sort of immunity. the same goes for most countries’ political leaders. let’s say a president needs to be tried for something. the president needs to be impeached first before they can be tried in court. i understand the thought that’s being pushed though.
The name alone carried weight—Blackthorn & Kingsley International. The untouchable firm that represented kings, global conglomerates, and political titans. Their reputation was unblemished and unreachable, a fortress of power and legal precision that no amount of money alone could buy. Only the elite, the powerful, or the desperate with ironclad evidence could access their services.

the switching povs isn’t a problem. the problem is with how it cuts the tension because of how it’s introduced in the middle. if it ties in to the current predicament and somehow raises the stakes, then placing it in the middle makes sense. it could even elevate the situation if handled correctly. if she somehow ties in more cohesively with the winter collection issue or somehow helps out with the reputation issue, then it makes perfect sense to introduce her now. also, i don’t really understand why days can’t just pass to skip directly to the winter collection reveal. i mean a couple of chapters ago you skipped months because nothing interesting was happening, right? why is it suddenly an issue now? again, the issue isn’t different povs. generally, i’m fine with them. i enjoyed Lina’s pov as well. my issue is with the timing of the switch.
the problem is in one chapter you’d mix up different povs, so we might miss an integral chapter because of skipping. if possible, could you mark the chapter itself with something like Eve’s storyline or Lina’s storyline?
PS. If you don't like other POVs just skip them. There's a POV name at the start of every chapter, so you'll know.

if i have to be honest, this is kind of a frustrating way to introduce a character. the tension was so high with eve’s predicament that it feels unnatural to just cut to some girl mentioned in a previous chapter. i’m way too invested to know what happens next that when girl c is introduced, i feel annoyed by her. it’s like seeing an action sequence that just cuts randomly to passerby a. this could have been better handled if her introduction happened prior to the play. by then, i would have had capacity to care about her character and motivation. also, the names are way too confusing at this point. we have sophie, sophia, ren, and ray. most of the time, i’ve forgotten who the mom is and who the daughter is. if you must name them with the same starting letter, please change the number of syllables or make them distinct to one another. i don’t mix up sinclair and sebastian, because they sound different and look different in terms of letter placement.
i don’t understand why she couldn’t multitask and handle both her ruined reputation and the design issue. aside from managing people, she can’t really help with the designs. same thing with the reputation issue. why can’t she just sue everyone for defamation?
this makes no sense. li lingyun exposed the cheating scandal. he doesn’t like li jun. him knowning that she’s lin yan could aid him in getting rid of li jun.
No, Li Lingyun can never find out that I am not Shen Yi, if not I will never be able to make both Li Jun and Fang Min pay for what they have done to me. This were the thought of Lin Yan, from wanting to live peacefully with her new identity to her thought being filled with revenge. Before there was a little hope that the conversation she heard at Li Lingyun office was not true, she believed that even though Li Jun cheated on her, he still loved her but now she could see that it was her who didn't want to let go, even when she wanted to pretend as if she was blind, the world refused for her to be blind. Yes, perhaps the reason she was given another chance was not to live peacefully but to have revenge. Revenge against those who had hurt her, against those who has always mocked her, against those who betrayed her and at that moment she knew that the only way to get this revenge is to use the man in front of her.

to be completely honest. i’m not sure what was the hold up for fixing the laptop. she could have just taken the hard drive off and let it run in some other laptop or plugged it in some other computer. i’m not sure why she bothered even fixing the original laptop. at my job, when we’re too lazy to transfer files from one laptop to another, we just switch hard drives. i mean, only the motherboard was destroyed, right?
"The whole set is burned now. I don't think the laptop would have survived the fire."

kind of strange how she immediately went to this thought.
"No," Ava shook her head vehemently, rephrasing after she realized Maximus didn't get the question. "I mean the date. What's today's date?"
