Zhang Heng had a good impression of Varo, being the first person he encountered in this quest after all. Before getting sold as a slave, he was a Roman citizen, and since Zhang Heng knew nothing about Rome's history, he had to ask Varo many questions and learn from him. Although most of the knowledge he had learned so far couldn't be put to use yet, it would eventually come in handy, considering the 24 extra hours he had. In other words, Zhang Heng would have to stay here for the entire duration of a year and a half. It would be impossible for him to stay here for that long, and taking comfort in the fact that he would be leaving this place soon, everything he learned from Varo would come in handy.

yeah but inappropriate imo. impluvium are a typical room in a Romans house but we are in England in 1927.

Fabericotte did not dare to open the door and run down the stairs. The intruder would be able to capture him if he did so. So the other thing that crossed his mind was to escape through the windows. Unlike Zhang Heng's unit, there was a dilapidated impluvium outside the windows, and there were some short and abandoned masonry buildings surrounding it. Then, to the west was a swamp.

but they have plastic magic remember

As for the second spell, he hesitated a little between 'Fireball', 'Healium Paulatim', and 'Chameleon' but in the end, he decided to go for the healing spell. Fireball might not be able to do a lot of damage and well, Villin didn't know enough about military equipment. It was possible the masks the soldiers wore that covered the top half of their face had heat sensors or things of the like and he doubted 'Chameleon' would be able to hide from those.

it's even more far fetched. I bet you don't know how a car works if you invent such crazy ideas. plastic worse environment is heat, it can dilate so easily at not so high temperature and its common knowledge. beside I don't really know how the different kinds of plastic are made but I bet it's way easier to melt metals in large quantity than produce plastic in such era. Are there also plastic wires that conduct electricity? heat resistant plastic? plastic recycling method made of plastic? lol

yeah plastic motors are so good

Cars, even though made mostly of plastic, weren't much worse compared to the modern-day ones. The only place they were somewhat lacking were safety precautions, and as for education, it seemed to be even better compared to earth. About twenty percent of the jobs were teaching ones, good education was extremely valued.

The second time he saw a gun was when he was listening to a speech of the governor on tv. Tensions were somewhat high at the moment so there were a couple of guards that had guns. With the knowledge he had now he recognized them to be modern pistols.
