Before stumbling into the station she had obviously altered her looks a little, shortening her long hair and changing it to a dark color— while also changing her eyes to a brownish hue.

The previous chapter mentioned nothing about her disguising her BLACK SCLERA, and BLOOD RED IRISES. Should that not be a concern?
I mean, your transformation/disguise dialogue in the previous chapter said nothing about hiding her eyes, which have black sclera, and blood red irises . perhaps an oversight in writing ?

I'd personally argue that both avenues increase survivability about equally, just in different situations, personal strength/upgrades would be more important in surprise situations, but a strong or large group would conversely be more beneficial when she is either aware of a threat in advance or very close to her drones
While using the mass right now to physically improve her body would help her get stronger in the short term, having a clone would grant her more freedom and benefit her in the long term.
