I think I’m really struggling to visualize what his attack is like. This “super” kick. The descriptions have been mostly alright to follow but for some reason this latest “no holding back” attack just doesn’t seem to make sense in my mind for how to visualize what’s happening. 😖
The last kick had conveyed a superior power level. It wasn't even comparable to Khan's previous attacks. The latter had merely relied on his speed, specific techniques, and physical prowess, but the former wielded something more profound.

Silly child battles. Real life and the world of adult problems comes quit for Lassim. Don't worry too much about the petty squabbles of teens. Won't have much time to worry about them here soon. Haha.
But Lassim, far from basking in the glory of victory, felt a gnawing disgust within himself. The duel, driven by a third party and ending in rage from insults, had spiraled beyond his intention. He hadn't wanted to harm Edric so grievously, and Maribel's role in goading the event left a sour taste in his mouth. Her overt flattery, in light of her earlier mischief, did nothing to endear her to him.

It's pretty common to eat fish with their skin at least attached here in japan. A few times I'd eaten a few scales by accident, but who knows... maybe it's a delicacy to some?
"Welcome, young master, to my humble stall!" exclaimed the stall seller, a jovial twinkle in his eye and comical grand gestures. "Allow me to introduce you to one of our city's most exquisite delicacies: wind koi fish scale candy! I promise there's nothing like this in the Iron Marquis' territory."

Yeah, I think I sort of struggle with the dialogue to make them super age appropriate, but I do also think it's important that we separate the notion these are regular humans. These are tools of war created by the gods to battle the abyss. They're fed elemental gifts from those gods as they hit their 8th birthday, literal divine fragments, that fused and leech off them to enable them to have insane bursts of growth rates and give longevity and long life (if they don't die battling the Abyss). That's a crucial part of the story that just hasn't been explored yet in these early chapters, so I hope you give a bit of suspension of disbelief as you read. Thanks for reading though and hope the explanation helps!
"Sure, that sounds like a great idea," he replied, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Lead the way, Sirium. I'm curious to see what this place has to offer."

Thanks for reading and hope you keep going! These chapters are still a bit rough i think in the start, but if you keep going I think my writing improved, so I appreciate you giving it a chance. Just want to apologize in advance haha. Around 60+ I think it gets stronger as I slow the pacing down a bit.
It's a ruthless world. :/
In Nexarian folklore, night deer are often associated with mystery and enchantment, their presence believed to herald good fortune and blessings upon those who encounter them. A blessing the trio of the Vanthar lord, guard Captain Gryphon and the young master Lassim would be hoping for on their travel. This, coupled with their exceptional forest navigational swiftness, make them perfect mounts for carriages in and out of Swallowtail Mountain City.

Actually no! Academies and Sects are meant for the gathering and sharing of cultivation resources at the lower stages. Even using ESS to cultivate becomes useless pretty quickly in the initial stages. Everything past the initial foundational stages (Spirit Incubation, Growth, and Transformation mainly) is just simple gathering of mana yourself and working on building your own styles and techniques. This mainly happens because of the transition to the Spirit Ascension stage and the use/creation of the Constellation from the soul crystal of each cultivator and then the focusing of the bonds between their own elemental spirit companion and themselves. It's not thoroughly touched upon specifically but kind of suggested if you follow the story later on as you just see these kinds of things happen as Lassim progresses in cultivation and learns about each stage. He's unique though since he has two elemental spirits.
'I can probably tell dad and uncle, but for now it's best if I hold off until I'm stronger. Regardless, I'll be able to quickly jump ranks and possibly awaken my spirit through the Spirit Incubation phase early. I'll see if I can buy some lower-rank source stones when we arrive at the academy.'

Yes! I was still working out the kinks, even now, about how the nobility structure works in a world with powerful Sects. Please know I'm just doing my best! But yes, he's a Marquis for the Aurora Kingdom!
After awhile they arrived at the inn they would be staying at. The Iron Marquis was quickly greeted by the sight of a kind looking old innkeeper that rushed to welcomed them with a warm smile after seeing their carriage pull up.

Oh they absolutely will know. But, I think it's important to know just how massive the world is and the fact that the world of Nexaria is mostly run by kingdom-states and only continental guardians that help protect each continent. There's not a real unified force other than on a continental basis. Sure, trade exists and there are communication discs for people to send text formatted messages between individuals, but there's not like some mass messaging system at this time. The world is fairly isolated in this nature due to their regions. So, yes the Veridian continent guardians almost instantly learned about Lassim's dual elemental nature and the nobles of Lassim's kingdom have too or soon will at this point in the story. Also, with the way things are going in the current chapters (328+), the world is going to soon have a much higher rate of exchange of information thanks to the main character's invention. Please continue reading if you're interested, but no harm if you don't! Thanks for giving my novel a shot and these early chapters were definitely not the best. My apologies in advance! Hope you enjoy regardless!
"So, the rumors were true," she murmured to herself, a faint smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "It seems we have a special new student in our midst."

Cara’s dialogue is missing.
"Cara has a point. Even if they wanted to, they probably couldn't. I am somewhat resistant to negative magical effects, and we already know that they don't have an Overlord here to do the job every day when I head back to my room at the Palace."
