Not really. It’s after you mentioned that I researched and found out that the plot kinda matches. But I came up with this when I was costructing her brother Zhi Bo’s back story. I realised that drug consumption and there severe consequences should be touched via more characters through this book. But while Zhi Bo was able to survive as he got help from Rong Xinghe and Zhi Xi at the right time, Zhou Zhichen couldn’t fight back the same addiction. It’s just a way to portray that journeys for rehabs and sobriety can be different for different people. Not to mention, when I looked through that serial, I saw that the girl forgave the man eventually(and he was her husband there, not a lover). It just can’t sit well with me. In my opinion, trust is the first foundation of any relationship. Rong Xinghe will NEVER forgive Zhou Che. Self-respect over every emotion, ALWAYS!
