The room fell into silence for a few seconds. Elen looked outside, watching the scenery of the swaying flowers in the academy's garden. Killian, on the other hand, stared at her, watching how the gentle breeze moved her beautiful long hair. It had been a long time since the last time he saw her, but her beauty was still the same.

A seemingly innocent and fragile woman who held wisdom of the world that he learned by living for so many years—the wisest person Killian knew.

"I am assuming you already know that the Heralds are here and trying to overtake this kingdom—to make this country their outpost," Killian said, watching the small changes on Elen's face.

"They have been here for more than two years, lurking in the shadows, blending in with the people. They did it so seamlessly that no one noticed their movements until recently," Elen replied, her eyes still outside.

"No one but you," Killian said. "You know everything and are acting like you don't."
