"I want you to impregnate all of these women when you graduate from the academy," Mom says, leaning in closer to me. Her words send a flush of heat to my face, and I begin to wonder if she's a bigger pervert than I am.

"M-Mom, I don't even know what to say," I stammer, sitting up and leaning against the bedframe. "What exactly do you hope to gain from me doing this?"

"I don't have any specific gain in mind," she replies, her tone serious. "But Luke, don't pretend you don't like women. Do you think I haven't noticed your lustful stares directed at women? What I want is for you to marry women from influential families. If you must marry, don't settle for a nobody or a deadbeat. That's the one thing I ask of you."

I'm left speechless, staring at her. She knew about my lustful eyes—the ones that linger on all the beautiful noblewomen who visit us. But if she knows about that, does she also know about the way I've looked at her?
