Chapitre 71: Zephyir's Awakening

The night had been a peaceful reprieve for Seraphyne as she lay beside Zephyir in one of the functional houses inside the current base.

The dim light of a single candle radiated a generous and delicate glow upon the sleeping couple. Seraphyne's obsidian hair framed her serene face while her husband's features, once paled by illness, had regained a measure of strength and vitality.

However, as the first rays of dawn pierced through the window, Seraphyne awakened to find that Zephyir was no longer by her side. She blinked away the remnants of sleep, her crystal-blue eyes scanning the room.

"Is he awake now?" she wondered aloud, her voice carrying a note of concern.

'Why did he get out of the bed without waiting for me to rise? Is it a new trend to leave your sleeping wife and go to places you shouldn't be?'
