Chapitre 101: CH101

Scenes flashed rapidly through Helag's mind, causing his blood to surge.

He closed his eyes and re-entered a meditative state, gradually stabilizing his emotions.

About ten minutes later, Helag was completely calm.

"Compared to many potions, this side effect is nothing. It just requires a bit more meditation time."

Overall, Helag was satisfied with the Starry Sky Potion's effects.

Meditation itself had a calming and stabilizing effect on emotions. With a bit more meditation, he could suppress any inner turmoil.

Of course, there were other solutions.

But Helag meditated daily and couldn't afford to waste two to three hours each time dealing with this issue.

He preferred meditation, which only took ten minutes to stabilize his emotions.

The test tube still contained 9 milliliters of Starry Sky Potion. Each batch produced 10 milliliters, enough for ten days.

After successfully creating the potion to accelerate his meditation, Helag tidied up the lab, restoring it to its clean and orderly state.

He locked the lab door and headed back to his living quarters.

Just then, Ed and Judy walked in, chatting and laughing, standing close together.

Seeing Helag, they quickly separated, looking a bit panicked.

Helag smiled and called Ed over. "Ed, come here for a moment."

Judy looked worried, but Ed, feeling anxious, followed Helag.

Helag patted his shoulder. "Don't worry. If you like Judy, go ahead and pursue her. As long as you both do your jobs well, I won't interfere."

"No… nothing like that, sir," Ed stammered, embarrassed.

Hearing Helag's words, Ed's initial fear dissipated.

Many masters didn't allow their servants to date. If caught, the servants could be severely punished without anyone objecting.

Helag clearly wasn't like that. He wouldn't be staying long, and Ed would need his own life eventually.

"I called you over to deal with the slave mark on your face," Helag said, examining the large mark on Ed's face.

"Can it really be removed?" Ed asked, excited.

When first branded with the slave mark, Ed had felt like dying, unable to look anyone in the eye.

Though he seemed accustomed to it now, he still cared deeply about the mark, despite not showing it.

Slave marks were notoriously hard to remove, made with a special solution that penetrated the flesh.

Ed had once tried scraping the flesh off his face, ending up bloodied and giving up.

He had lost hope, but Helag's words reignited it.

To Ed, Helag was synonymous with mystery and power.

If Helag was willing to try, there was hope for removing the mark.

"Deep Blue, analyze this slave mark and provide a removal method that won't harm the body," Helag instructed.

[Detected that the mark is made with a solution of Cabbage Grass.

Use the following formula to remove it: 10 grams of Rootless Vine, 40 grams of Pig Stomach Grass, 80 grams of Yangju Stone…]

Helag checked the formula, noting it consisted of basic herbs, none of which were magical ingredients.

He wrote a list and sent Ed to buy the items.

Ed, knowing the herbs were for removing his slave mark, was deeply grateful and ran off quickly.

Within half an hour, Ed returned with the herbs.

Helag began the preparation.

Making this solution was much simpler than potions, requiring no magic infusion or constant attention.

Potion-making had a low margin for error; a single mistake could ruin everything, wasting precious ingredients and requiring a restart, sometimes even posing dangers.

An hour later, Helag held a large beaker of pale yellow solution.

He called Ed over and applied the solution to his face with a brush.

"Apply this once a day. In about half a month, the mark will be completely gone," Helag said, handing Ed the remaining solution in a glass bottle.

The solution would penetrate Ed's skin, reacting with the mark's components and dissolving them.

As the pigments dissolved, the mark would gradually disappear, a process requiring at least half a month.

Ed held the bottle like a treasure and knelt, thanking Helag profusely.

"Sir…"

Helag waved impatiently. "Alright, off you go."

He couldn't stand seeing a grown man crying before him and kicked Ed out.

Ed, despite the kick, was overjoyed.

Helag returned to his room, checking every corner for any abnormalities.

"Deep Blue, monitor the surroundings constantly. Alert me immediately if anyone or anything approaches."

[Task initiated.]

Helag took a deep breath and retrieved the ancient magic slate from his spatial ring.

He glanced at it briefly before looking away. The slate's content remained unchanged.

"Deep Blue, can you analyze the slate's content?" Helag asked.

[Yes.]

"What's the content of the slate?" Helag, though suspecting it was a first-level spell, wasn't entirely sure.

[Based on current information, the slate contains a spell model equivalent to a first-level spell,] Deep Blue replied.

"Just as I thought," Helag said. "Deep Blue, if I use 30% of my magic daily, how many days will it take to analyze the slate?"

[Calculating…]

Ten minutes later, Deep Blue responded,

[It will take approximately 187 days to complete the analysis.]

"Over half a year. That's a bit long, but it doesn't affect me much. Even if the analysis is complete, I'll need the mental strength of at least a third-level wizard apprentice to read the content."
