Lucien had literally frozen up. Goosebumps traveled from her skin to her scalp. Benjamin silently stared at her without a blink. His gazes were as though he was glimpsing into the deepest corner of her soul.

'Think happy thoughts...think happy thoughts...happy thoughts...' her mind chanted. She didn't want anyone to know who she actually was nor felt the need to hide it but she did.

She wanted to avert her gaze somewhere else, but it will become more suspicious. She held her breath with a racing heart, thumping across her chest. Her hand held tight to the mug from trembling.

Sure enough, Benjamin chuckles frightening her further, "did I frighten you, my Lady?"

"W-what?

Her chest wasn't at rest at all; nails lightly scraping on the cup which was still brewing hot.
