Chapitre 69: Chapter -69

Both windows were shut with a curtain covering the view from the outside. Even then, the moonlight illuminates its light passing through the curtain brightening the carriage inside. She could hardly see her lady, however; she could somehow glimpse the little light caressing through the edge of her skin.

"However, the casket–"

"It was a fake," Lucien interrupts, lifting her heavy eyelids. "The host has no means of returning the boy to us. He wants nothing but to assassinate us in that spot before we leave tomorrow. He had spies everywhere, eyeing our every movement even to the point of keeping two guards at the front door." Catherine closes back her lips after finally being able to understand, however, another question pops up in her mind. As she opens her lips, Lucien interrupts understanding what she was going to ask.

"The actual body is with me. My spirit was able to take care of him."
