Chapitre 34: Chapter 34: Safe?

I invited Royce inside when he was dropping me off at my place after the beach trip. We’d already taken Nico home. And it was still relatively early. 

When Royce asked his best friend if he’d heard our argument from Friday, Nico claimed to have fallen asleep quickly after we’d returned back to the beach house. He said he heard nothing. We weren’t sure, but we didn’t question Nico.

We’d returned to town before the sun had even set, wanting to beat out the traffic. We’d stopped at a diner outside of town for a quick dinner, but the sun had finally set, and the early evening was setting in.

I hadn’t felt so light in years. I wasn’t fully honest with Royce about my past, but just admitting that I wasn’t a virgin had taken so much pressure off. I didn’t have to worry about when he’d find out or if he’d judge me. Because there wasn’t any judgment, he didn’t push. He didn’t pry. He simply said, “When you’re ready, you tell me.”
