94.11% Warlord's Ascent: The Orc chief / Chapter 15: New allies

Chapitre 15: New allies

As the battle intensified and the enemy pushed forward, the tide seemed to turn against Liam and his combined forces.

Just when it appeared that they might be overwhelmed, a thunderous sound echoed through the tunnels, followed by the unmistakable clash of steel.

"Uldren!" Liam shouted, spotting the familiar figure leading his troops into the fray.

Uldren, flanked by a group of orc warriors, charged into the battle with fierce determination, his magical aura radiating strength and resolve.

"Hold strong, brothers!" Uldren called out, his voice cutting through the chaos.

With new reinforcements on their side, the orcs started to overwhelm the enemies again

"Push back! We're not done yet!" Uldren yelled as he unleashed a wave of energy that sent several enemy soldiers flying.

The human and dwarven forces, now caught in a pincer movement, faltered under the dual assault.

The commander retaliated with a desperate flurry of attacks, his face a mask of anger and fear. "You think you can defeat me? We will not fall to the likes of you!"

But Liam and Rorgash pressed forward, their combined strength overwhelming the commander's defenses.

With a final push, Liam defeated the commander.

"Now's our chance!" Uldren yelled, rallying the troops. "Push them back! Don't let a single one escape!"

Liam nodded, adrenaline surging through him. "Regroup! Let's finish this!"

The orc forces surged forward, driving the remaining human and dwarven soldiers back through the tunnels.

As they pressed on, Grothar and his unit joined in, fierce and determined. The combined forces quickly overwhelmed the remaining enemies, forcing them into retreat.

"Victory belongs to us today!" Uldren declared, raising his weapon high.

Cheers erupted from the orc warriors and Shadowtusk fighters, their voices echoing through the tunnels.

Liam looked around at his warriors, pride swelling in his chest.

The Shadowtusk leader stepped forward, gratitude shining in his eyes. "Thank you, Liam. You've saved my clan and given us hope again."

"From this day onwards the Shadowtusk clan shall be forever loyal to you"

The warriors around them cheered, their spirits lifted by the promise of unity.

The Shadowtusk orcs, once weary and demoralized, now stood tall, ready to fight for their newfound leader.

"I think it would be better to relocate to the oasis," Liam suggested, looking around at the eager faces. "Your old abode is in ruins, and you numbers greatly reduced"

"We also need to establish a new home for you all where we can regroup and strategize for the challenges ahead."

All the orcs under Liam cheered at the decision and began their march home.

There were around 400 surviving shadow orcs with 200 of them being combat units.

It took them around 2 days as they finally reached the oasis where they began to plan their next step.

Liam gathered all the heroes under his command and they began their discussion at the main hall

"We can't allow the enemy to regroup and gather reinforcements. We must strike them as quickly as possible" Liam addressed his warriors

"Their leader is still a threat and we must take him out at the earliest"

Liam turned towards the shadowtusk chief "Your warriors are the best in stealthy operations. Send them out and gather necessary information about the enemy"

Without hesitation, the Shadowtusk leader agreed, assigning a group of his best scouts to the task.

Two days later, the scouts returned to the oasis with their findings.

They had managed to get close enough to the fort to have a rough estimates of the number of troops

The enemy had only 200 troops left with their morale severely down. And it was the best time to strike as agreed by all.

Liam gathered his troops and sieges and marched towards the fort.

The battle was decisive and extremely fast. The enemies were taken out swiftly by the shadow orcs.

And the sieges worked wonders. The fort was breached within minutes and the leader captured after a hard fought battle.

As Liam entered the leader's chambers and the fort's treasury, he was blown away by the sheer amount of riches this man had.

He was also getting a separate purple grade chest on top of all these riches

Liam ordered his orcs to take all the treasures back and store it in the treasury which came with the upgrade of his village hall.

He had gained:

*A/N: the system had prompted him if he wanted to convert all the jewels and other pricy shit to money and he agreed*

Liam opened the chest next

[Barracks extension(Ariel combat training hall), Avian grounds' blueprint, Saddle blueprint, 1 hero summon token, Watch tower blueprint]

Liam had gained much from this trip. It was like he had purchased a combo pack for ariel units.

As he reached the oasis he immediately built 10 more beast enclosures for the overwhelming amount of sandtusk boars

He handed the infant drakes to the beast handlers and placed the unknown egg in his room.

He gave the dagger to the shadow orc's leader and kept the armor for himself.

After sorting through all the loot he had gained Liam called for Uldren. He had some things he wanted to inquire about

Liam asked Uldren about why the shadowtusks were soo different feom traditional orcs.

What were the major powers and the general geography of the world.

Were there other types of orcs like the shadow orcs?

Uldren answered each of Liam's questions

The shadow orcs were like a mutated species of orcs.

Long ago they had forsaken their lives of brutes and decided to rely more on speed and stealth, ambushing their prey.

Thus after many generations, their bodies had transformed greatly to accommodate those changes

The continent they were living in was called Veloria. And there were were two mighty empires that contested for supremacy and many other kingdoms scattered around the continent.

The place they were currently was the Ashen Desert which was one of the only two places were no kingdom or empire staked their claim.

There were also many other types of orcs. The blood orcs, frost orcs, Ashen orcs and the most notorious the beast orcs.

Gold, silver and copper are the general currency of this world and are accepted everywhere being regulated by the global merchants' association.

100 copper coins = 1 silver coin

100 silver coins = 1 gold goin

A normal peasant family earns around an average of 1 -2 gold coins per year

raw gold, silver and copper ingots can be exchanged to coins by a 1:1 ratio of their weight in any major market through the merchant guild.

Cannot be obtained through chests and system rewards

*Side Note*

Drop rates of Blueprints from beast kills are astronomically low thus he got only 1 or 2 soo far after killing tons of them. Yeah(I absolutely did not forget about it. Its just that the drop rates are low)

Blueprints are also of 2 types. One which can be used only once and one which can be used multiple times

Also scraping off the color grading for Buildings. Will just use grade 1-8 and their cost will be the deciding factor of how useful they are

Weapons will only have color grading. No number grading

Heroes will have both color and number grading

Ordinary troops will have number grading only

I know I am rushing this a lot but I am just tired with constant action. Thought that upcomming chapter would be all about quality of life changes in the camp and slow and steady upgrades. Not much on the action front but a lot will be happening. Will be exploring the other lords and the dungeons more just general expansion. will go on for about 5-6 chapters with huge time skips in between

Expect some long chapters from now now. Will be averaging at around 2000 words
