Chapitre 1: Rebirth and early years
my life on modern earth was by no means extraordinary,I fit well into otaku catagory,I played games and read novels for a living after all. I was a beta tester for games and an editor for a small publishing company mostly just helping novelization of games ,films , anime and manga. but that's just to make money, my favourite hobby was to create mods for games. I just love thinking how small changes would make huge difference in any game.my current project is for total war:warhammer 2 trying to add lothren sky cutters to the game . I grow tired of the menial task of creating the 3D model at 3 o'clock in the night. I go for a walk outside when a mugger stabs me for what is surely a disappointment when he will see my wallet. I was in a bit of a suicidal phase so didn't mind it much, just sad that I didn't get to say goodbye
next time I am aware is when I am pushed out as a baby. I am way to disoriented to figure out what is happening. I get in the cycle of watching distorted visuals and blissful sleep and feeding on milk. it takes a few months before I realise that my parents are not exactly humans. they are elf and just the thought makes me giddy cause existence of elf surely means existence of magic and who doesn't get fascinated by magic. it is only after I meet my brother at age 2 that I realise that I'm in warhammer universe. because my brother is called celador dragontamer and he is about a hundred years old. ofcourse bring reincarnated i am much smarter that my peers and my brother came from his adventures to judge me for my intelligence in hopes to take his little brother as his mage apprentice.i am excited because most elf start training in magic after reaching teenage, even the most brilliant ones start early teena,but that is more due to lack of understanding and maturity. starting to learn magic is about as difficult as a post graduate college course.it requires understanding of natural laws(science) to even start on changing or manipulating them. mastering a school of magic is about PhD level while combining them to learn high magic is about at level of getting 10's of doctorates. the different schools of magic being-life, metal, light, beast, fire,shadow, heavenand death. only after learning ask these schools one can lean high magic
my brother is among geniuses who started at early age of 13 and became a high mage at mere age of 60.
most elf start at 18 and on average become high mages ,if the chose to,at age of 150. my father for instance is 300 years old yet he only studied fire and metal magic with any enthusiasm. Although there is no true nobility among the elves as most are just nomads, our father is a learned man and great merchant. our mother is a high mage and one of the biggest reason behind my brother's success.
my brother ask me about my interest and I say that I love learning new things. he smiled and asked me a few questions to test waters with my intelligence. I have spent as much time in library of our manson as could. this allowed me to showcase knowledge and intelligence of a 4 year old. I want him to think that with my knowledge and intelligence growing at exponential rate, I might be able to learn magic soon. he says that he will finish with his commitments and in two years take me as his apprentice if I show enough aptitude. I tell him that I have read a bit about magic and if he could help me convince our mother to teach me life magic and light magic for the 2 years he will be away. he laughs saying that I don't need to hurry so much, I'm already starting twice as early as even he did. I beg him for just one spell each. he sighs and asks what I have in mind.I say I just wanted life spell that increases vigor and a light spell inspiration. I've seen my mother use the light spell like a shot of coffee, and I need myself some of that while vigour will work like energy drink. both will help me completely read through the library. I am already doing yoga exercises I learned at earth, and vigour will help with that as well. I have been doing painting and will take up other arts as well soon to increase my lateral thinking potential, inspiration should be usefull there as well. my brother just thinks that I want these spells to be able to play longer and read books faster with lesser mental fatigue.
he starts me not in the spells I asked but 2other spells. a spell to raise plants much faster for life spell and a illumination spell that works like a torch and disrupts illusions. he is to go back in a weak so he said I have to show him enough progress in these spells to convince him to ask mother to teach me. I excitedly practice for the weak and I can grow a crop that takes 3 months to grow in hours and cast multiple balls for light with individual control for illuminate. my brother is very impressed and decides to show my performance to mother who is incredibly pleased that both of us are talented in magic and are getting along, getting her to promise me teachings. I'm going to be taught to use inspiration and vigour on other animals and then to channel them inward.
I say goodbye to my brother, who will return on 2 years to take me as his official apprentice
