Chapitre 95: Neutral, objective, impartial

"Mr. President, is there something you need?"

The security guard was slightly nervous, unsure why the president suddenly wanted to see him.

In this day and age, jobs were hard to come by. He considered himself lucky to have landed a job at Gamestar Electronics, responsible for assembling game consoles.

However, not long after, the assembly work was outsourced to specialized factories. They weren't immediately laid off but were given less important but still livable jobs.

For example, security or sales personnel at authorized stores.

Being called by the president out of the blue, he couldn't help but wonder if he had done something wrong.

Takayuki looked at the security guard and said, "I don't have anything special, I just wanted to ask if there were any special people wanting to come in today?"

"Special people?" The security guard began to recall.

Indeed, throughout the day, there were several individuals who seemed like they wanted to sneak in, but he had stopped them all.

But since it was the president's inquiry, he proceeded to introduce each of those individuals.

"Mr. President, those people didn't seem particularly... oh wait, I remember there was a kid who seemed different. He had some documents with him that I couldn't understand, seemed like some kind of promotion. Since he was a kid, I politely refused his entry as gently as possible."

"A kid? How old?" Takayuki was surprised.

"About... junior high school age, I suppose. Mr. President, is this the person you wanted to see? Did I do something wrong?"

"No, it's not your fault. You were just doing your job, and I don't blame you," Takayuki shook his head.

So, the creator of that forum was a teenager? That was quite unexpected.

But since a child could create such a website with over a thousand followers, he must have some talent in the field of computers.

"Alright, here's what we'll do. This kid will probably come back tomorrow, and you..."

"Then I'll let him in right away," the security guard immediately said.

"No no no... that's too obvious."

"Huh? What's too obvious?" The security guard was confused.

"What I mean is, let's stage a little performance."

"A performance..."

Now the security guard was even more confused.

Why would they need a performance?

"You've talked to that kid, and you know he wants to discuss cooperation with us, right?"

The security guard nodded. "Yes."

"I want to appear completely unaware of this matter. He convinces you with his eloquence, you let him in, then he convinces me, and we reach a cooperation agreement."

It sounded a bit convoluted.

In simple terms, Takayuki didn't want to expose his alt account's identity. He intended to use it as a pure guide.

He wanted the forum to remain neutral, rather than becoming a platform for any specific company's promotion.

He needed a platform for genuine feedback on game quality.

To maintain neutrality, objectivity, and fairness, the platform needed to be impartial.

If he appeared to have prior knowledge of the boy's identity, it would be obvious that he had allowed him in.

Then, players would become more skeptical when reading game evaluations on the forum, and wouldn't easily believe the hype from a company's shill, even if it was genuine feedback.

As for real shills, Takayuki would deal with them separately. For this boy's forum, he hoped it would remain absolutely neutral, a media outlet responsible only for game quality.

Building his own gaming media platform in this world might be slow, but he needed to accelerate the process.

The security guard didn't understand why the president made it so complicated, but since it didn't affect his daily work and was the president's command, there was no problem in following it.

"I understand, Mr. President. I'll perform seriously tomorrow, you can count on me."

"Alright, thank you."

After the security guard left, Takayuki opened the computer again and logged into the forum, sending a message to the boy.

Honestly, Takayuki hadn't expected the boy to be so young.

No wonder the security guard didn't let him in. Even Takayuki, if he didn't know the situation, wouldn't easily listen to what a child had to say.

Nintendo is the damn ruler of the world: "I think tomorrow you should try convincing the security guard again. I believe you have the ability, and think about it, as long as you successfully convince Gamestar Electronics, you will get the chance to play games in advance. It might even be free. Of course, in that case, I might also get to play games for free in advance."

The boy, who had been feeling down today, was once again persuaded.

The opportunity to play the latest games in advance was quite tempting, definitely worth another try.

It often took several attempts to pursue a girl, so how could he give up just because of one failure?

Super Game Elite: "Okay, I'll give it another try. Actually, I can confess to you, I'm just a kid. I guess the reason I was rejected might be because of that."

Nintendo is the damn ruler of the world: "Huh? You're still a kid? That's surprising. Just a kid can create a forum website and have over a thousand followers. It seems my choice wasn't wrong. You indeed have potential. Keep it up, I believe in you!"

Children are often easily motivated. It's much easier to persuade them than adults.

It's not strange for a child to love playing games and sharing them.

But to think a child could create a website, develop it into a forum with over a thousand daily users, was quite unusual in this era.

And he seemed to have some insider gaming information.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have known that the development time for Suirui Electronics' Sun Knight game was over three months.

This was impossible to know without insider information.

So how did a child find out?

Perhaps it was worth asking.

The next day, the boy returned to the front of Gamestar Electronics.

The same security guard as yesterday was there.

But this time, the security guard had received instructions from Takayuki and wouldn't really turn the boy away.

However, he still needed to follow the president's orders and stage a little act.

"It's you again? Why are you back?" The security guard posed a skeptical look.

"Handsome big brother, it's like this, I really am someone who can help your company, a... opinion leader, yes, an opinion leader. Here are the documents I gave you yesterday, and they're even more detailed than yesterday. I just want a chance to talk to your company, even if it's just for one or two minutes."

"You really don't give up, do you? But I completely don't understand this stuff, and your age..."

The boy quickly said, "I know what you're worried about, handsome big brother, but I think maybe you can help me by passing these documents to your superiors. Maybe they'll change their minds after seeing them. I won't trouble you with anything else, just please help me get these documents to your company's leaders."

The security guard hesitated, then took the documents and seemed to be thinking.

"Handsome big brother, just help me this once. It won't waste your time at all. And if these documents are really valuable, handing them to your boss yourself will definitely benefit you, right?"

"Well... you have a point. I'll help you, and you do have a sweet mouth."

After being called 'handsome big brother' several times, the security guard indeed felt comfortable. He felt that even if the president hadn't arranged it, he probably would have agreed to the boy's request.

"Wait here for a moment."

The boy immediately showed a happy expression.

Success!

It seemed some things did require a little effort, and giving up shouldn't be easy.
