Ren's POV:
"DING!"
My phone dinged with a message from Evan.
I read it and instantly could guess who took Lucas. I haven't seen him in centuries yet he knew of Lucas's presence. I instantly called Layla and she confessed to having a conversation about Lucas with him.
I couldn't believe she would even talk about this with anyone, including Robert.
I scolded her and demanded she came with me to their rescue. She had to take responsibility for her actions. She led her trusted friends into danger.
We arrived at the coordinates that Evan sent us and looked around. Layla didn't say a word at our meet up, just nodded. She was still sulking at me yelling at her.
"I'm sorry I yelled at you." I apologized sincerely to her.
She grunted as a response, still holding a grudge about it.
I located some stairs leading down underground that looked out of place and beckoned Layla over.
"I think I found the way down. This way."
We walked down in silence, and the stairs went on forever.
"It is my fault." Layla admitted gaining my attention.
"I Promised to keep this a secret and still blabbed my mouth off to someone like Robert." She pouted at her mistake and looked at her feet.
"As long as he was the only one you told." I warned.
"He was. I told no one else. It was only because we went out drinking one night and I blurted it out like it was nothing." She continued her pout but continued walking down with a determined look.
We reached the bottom and familiar scents wafted all around us. This was definitely the place.
Long blue corridors with loads of doors. Definitely needed a new decorator.
We continued our venture further in, always on guard.
"My oh my" I stiffened at the sudden words spoken from behind me.
"Looks like I have plenty of visitors this week. However I wasn't expecting you my dear brother." Robert chuckled at his own surprise.
"Yeah well, you shouldn't go sticking your nose where it doesn't belong Robert." I hissed back.
This twin brother of mine was not one to take lightly, he was manipulative. He always had a scheme underway, and if you didn't know of it, you were part of it.
He had pulled far too many tricks on me and our family in the past. Some of his powers were taken from him as consequences. Yet he is still powerful with that head of his.
"Hand them over and we will leave. We don't need to break out into a fight." I attempted to reason with him, instantly regretting my decision as he began to laugh hysterically.
I looked at Layla for some clarity of the situation but still stared back s
and shrugged.
Robert wiped a tear from his eye and chuckled," Oh dear brother you do make me laugh."
I frowned at his response.
"I'm afraid I still need that boy and I always love a good toy too. You could take that vampire's place if you'd like. "
"Well ' I'm afraid ' it's not up for negotiation." I hissed again, anger raising in my voice.
Layla quickly understood the situation at prepared herself for battle. Standing in a battle stance.
However I had another job for her instead.
I raised my hand up, signaling her to stop.
"You go find them whilst I deal with him." I yelled, launching the first attack at Robert.
She quickly nodded and ran off down the corridor yelling "Good luck!" back at me.
