Eungoo laid on the bed in a guest room. He was kicked out of the master's bedroom because his master didn't want to see him for a while; he was still clearly upset with him.
He sighed as he stared at the ceiling and began to contemplate what had happened earlier. He told himself that he would never regret the actions that he did; he wouldn't regret making that kind of adventure. But now, he was wondering if he could have apologized earlier instead of talking back at Yejun.
"I'm not his bitch though." He argued with himself. He sighed one more time before getting up and decided to go downstairs for a glass of water.
As soon as he got to the stairs, he heard pairs of feet scrambling away. And when his sight level was on the living room and hallway, they were gone. He pouted. Even the maids were avoiding him, much worse than the plague. As soon as he got to the kitchen he went straight to the refrigerator and looked for a bottle of water and closed the fridge as soon as he got it. He leaned back on the counter and began to drink it when all of a sudden, he heard distant voices.
"Was he okay?" Eungoo crouched down a little so he wouldn't be seen. He noticed that the voices were coming from the outside.
"I think so." A voice answered.
'Irene' he thought as he peered and saw Yejun's maid talking to the gardener.
"Did Mr. Park, kill him?"
"No… He didn't"
The gardener nodded and pursed her lips. Her attention went to the dim-lit sky and smiled. "That was very dangerous of him to have done that… and very gutsy."
"I call it reckless and immature." Now that broke Eungoo's heart quite a bit since he knew that it was somewhat true.
"Now now… don't be like that… I'm sure he had his reasons."
"Whatever it was, it was selfish." Irene pointed out. Eungoo's hand shook as he held the bottle of water and his lips quivered.
'it wasn't selfish' he defended himself in his mind.
"I know you care about that boy." The gardener spoke softly cupping Irene's face to help her calm down.
"You know how much Yejun despites betrayal so much. He's lucky that he has a home now. He's not even being considerate of how this puts everyone in jeopardy… the maids, the guards, the golden dragon family, and Yejun himself… I-"
The gardener pulled Irene into a hug and began to whisper sweet nothings to her ear. It made Eungoo wonder, 'were they dating?'
"I know… but you can't blame Eungoo. He doesn't know what to make with all of this. He's held captive here, away from everything he has ever known. We made a choice to follow Yejun and he didn't have one. Besides, he's a child and we're the adults here. We should know better."
Eungoo breathed in heavily and placed his glass on the counter before crawling out the kitchen and dashed up the stairs. He covered his mouth with his hands and tried his best to muffle the tears that began to pour out like waterfalls. There it is… He's finally feeling it… Guilt.
'He's not even being considerate of how this puts everyone in jeopardy'
Irene's voice rang in his head. It was true. He admits that it was selfish of him to put himself and his hyung first where everyone in this house had shown him nothing but kindness even, Park Yejun, the devil himself. The supposed-to-be bad guy was nicer than most mafia bosses that he has heard of in the news… well to him and everyone else working under him.
With one shaky breath, he got off the wall that he leaned to for support and quietly looked for his master. MASTER. He touched the hangul letters attached to his collar and sighed. The item has never bothered him, but the guilt made it feel like him carrying some weights that he knew was too much for him.
As soon as he reached the door he slowly opened it and revealed a passed-out Yejun on his desk. Eungoo laughed a little and left to get something from the master's bedroom. And as he got back, he had his Ryan plushie and a weighted blanket.
He then bit his lips and placed the blanket down to the side. He then lifted Yejun's head up a little… surely and slowly just to make sure to not wake him up before slipping his plushie. And as soon as he was successful enough to do so he grabbed the blanket and wrapped it on Yejun's body. He chuckled lowly and picked up the pen from his master's fingers. He then blushed when he remembered the events that came along with that particular pen.
He felt hot so he fanned himself with his fingers and laid the item down on the desk. And as soon as he calmed down he sighed quietly and leaned down. His back was numbing from exhaustion due to his position so he knelt down. He then leaned in and brushed away a few strands of hair from Yejun's face.
He pouted and placed his arms on the edge of the desk and rested his head there. It was these peaceful times that he loved the most where Park Yejun looked like a sleeping angel. He wasn't a mafia boss, an heir to this mafia stuff, business tycoon, or whatever. He was just… a man… a beautiful sleeping man.
"I'm sorry." Eungoo began as he whispered softly. Because of his pride in the way, he could only apologize like this. "I… was wrong…" He sighed and closed his eyes finally able to say the words.
"I'm not one who apologizes easily not to you or anyone even to Kwan hyung." Eungoo smiled at that. He suddenly remembered how Kwan used to smack the shit out of him just to get him to even say 'sorry'. "I wish you could meet him. I wish you could meet how amazing Min Kwan is. I'm all he has. And this is the day that he needs someone the most."
Eungoo started to sniff as the tears are threatening to fall from his face. His heart ached so much like he was somewhat drowning from unseen water. He took a few seconds to calm down before continuing.
"I'm sorry if I-… Your car… the big bike." He began rambling on. "Kwan love love loves motorcycles and cars and stuff. If he only had the money, he would have studied mechanical engineering but Seoul University only offered him a scholarship for marketing I think. It's my first time to steal I swear" He assured since his hyung basically raised him and taught him to never steal.
'Eungoo… Whatever happens, you never steal even if I do it.'
At that time he didn't understand what his hyung meant but as he got older he then realized that Kwan does it so Eungoo doesn't have to. He was the best parent to him than his biological ones and for that, he's forever grateful.
"I'm not entirely sure about it but he told me that when he has enough money he'd enroll himself to that profession."
Eungoo leaned back and began to wipe his tears away and sighed. "He's the reason why after all these years, I wasn't out on living on the streets… He says that I'm too amazing to end up there."
He then laughed a little and muttered another sorry before leaving the room and closing the door behind him. Eungoo had no more agenda and decided to sleep in the guest room knowing that Yejun doesn't want to see him when he wakes up…
Wrong. He thought wrong.
Yejun's eyes fluttered open and stared at the spot where his naughty pet knelt and apologized. He was awake the entire time. The only reason he faked his slumber was that he wanted to know if he had any traitors in his house or so. He wasn't expecting a Kim Eungoo coming in and offering the Ryan plushie that he won for him and his abandoned weighted blanket; he has forgotten what it felt like to hug something so soft and cuddly as his childhood was ripped off him as early as he could remember.
Min Kwan. He hates the name so much only because Eungoo sees this man as a god. He hated it and as hard to admit as well as Eungoo apologizing, maybe he was seeing things differently. He had a file on Kim Eungoo and Min Kwan but never bothered to read much at the later's since he was solely interested with just… Eungoo.
'He's the reason why after all these years, I wasn't out on living on the streets'
Why?
Yejun thought so he sat upright and placed the plushie on his lap and went to find Kwan's file from his desk's drawer. And instead of reviewing the company's monthly report, he ended up running a background check on Min Kwan the whole night.
