In the heart of the dense forest, Gray could be seen leaping from one tree to another with ease, effortlessly dodging the branches in his way. With each jump, he hid himself quickly behind the trunk of a tree, before resuming his parkour across the forest canopy.
Gray was determined to become more efficient at moving around the forest, and he knew that mastering the art of tree-jumping and parkour would help him achieve this goal. He had learned from his mistakes in the last monster wave fight, where he had failed to use his surroundings to his advantage.
As he moved around the forest, Gray's movements became more fluid and natural. He navigated his way through the trees, seamlessly jumping and running along the branches as if he had been doing it his entire life.
He had also become more aware of his surroundings, noticing small details that he had previously overlooked. He could now identify the best trees to jump from, the safest branches to land on, and the quickest routes to take through the forest.
After a half-hour of intense training, Gray felt invigorated and energized. He had pushed himself to his limits and felt satisfied with the progress he had made. As he made his way back to their territory, his movements remained fluid and graceful, a testament to his improved skills.
Gray's senses remained sharp, even as he retraced his steps through the forest. He noted the changes in the surroundings, the subtle shifts in light and sound, and took note of the best paths to take. His heightened awareness allowed him to navigate the terrain with ease, taking shortcuts and avoiding potential hazards.
In the early morning, as the sun began to peek over the horizon, Gray made his way to the summoning altar. It had become a daily ritual for him over the past week.
Today's daily summon resulted in the following goblins:
- Scout Goblin ( Uncommon )( x1 )
- Chef Goblin ( Uncommon ) ( x1 )
- Carpenter Goblin ( Uncommon ) ( x2 )
- Farmer Goblin ( Uncommon ) ( x1 )
[ In total, Gray currently possesses 31 goblins under his command.]
While the new group of summoned goblins may not have been impressive at first glance, Gray understood their value. With their help, he could make significant progress in upgrading the base and improving the overall condition of the goblins. Ultimately, this would enable him to achieve his goal of strengthening the territory's defenses.
After a few hours of traversing the dense forest and completing his tasks, Gray finally arrived back at his own territory. He was exhausted and his clothes were damp with sweat and dirt. Without wasting any time, he made his way to his small cabin to take a break, hydrate himself and change into clean clothes.
As he entered his cabin, he immediately grabbed a bottle of water and chugged it down, feeling the cool liquid refresh his tired body. He then stripped off his sweaty shirt, revealing his defined abs and muscular arms, and changed into a fresh set of clothes.
After taking a short break to rest, Gray made his way towards the construction site of the Poison Ivy Tower. He was excited to see the progress that the goblins had made so far.
As he approached the site, Gray could see that the goblins had already laid the foundation for the tower. The construction appeared to be moving along smoothly, and Gray was impressed with the efficiency and skill of the goblins.
Looking around the area, Gray realized that the decision to build the first tower in the north was a smart one. The north was the main entrance to the territory, and building the tower there would help to fortify the area and improve the defense of the whole base.
As Gray continued to observe the construction, he was suddenly disturbed by the sound of footsteps behind him. Turning around, he saw that it was Gobusuke, one of his trusted goblin subordinates.
"Lord Gray, I have news," Gobusuke said as he approached. "The scout goblins have already gathered information about the two neighboring territories. They have compiled a report for your review."
Gray nodded and took the paper from Gobusuke.
=====
- The Orc Territory ( approximately 2.5 kilometers away to the west )
: Chief Orc ( x1 ) - wields dual axes as a weapon.
: Axe Warrior Orc ( 80x )
: Wooden Club Warrior Orc ( 80x )
: Mace Warrior Orc ( 40x )
: No machinery, about 12-foot wooden walls surrounds the territory, and doesn't have any traps.
- The Lizard Man Territory ( approximately 1.9 kilometers away to the north )
: Huge Lizard Man ( x1 ) - wields a massive trident as a weapon.
: Blade Warrior Lizard Man ( 30x - 35x )
: Trident Warrior Lizard Man ( 40x - 45x )
: Archer Lizard Man ( 30x - 35x )
: No machinery, about 9-foot wooden spike walls surround the territory, with some traps scattered about (although they can be easily avoided).
Gray furrowed his brow as he read through the scout's report. "Hmm, it seems like we have two options here," he said, looking up at Gobusuke. "We could either attack the Orc Territory first, or the Lizard Man Territory."
After a moment of consideration, Gray made up his mind. "I think we should go for the Lizard Man Territory first. Their walls are lower, and we can take advantage of their traps being scattered around. Once we've taken that territory, we can focus on the Orcs."
"What do you think, Gobusuke?
Gobusuke straightened up and responded with deference, "My lord, I agree with your decision. I also think that taking the Lizard Man Territory first would be a wise choice. It's like hunting prey in the wild, you go after the weakest first, and then take down the strongest. It's a strategic move that can increase our chances of success."
"Very well, Gobusuke," Gray nodded in agreement.
"What about our troops, Gobusuke?" Gray asked. "How many men should we bring?"
Gobusuke pondered for a moment before responding, "My lord, I suggest we form an elite troop for this mission. I can handpick the best goblins from our army to join us in the attack."
Gray nodded in agreement. "That's a good plan, Gobusuke. We'll need a small but elite force to take down the Lizard Man Territory. Make sure to pick goblins who are skilled in stealth and night attacks. We'll launch our attack under the veil of darkness, when the Lizard Men are least expecting it."
Gobusuke bowed his head in acknowledgement. "Understood, my lord. I will gather the best goblins skilled in moving quietly and quickly for the task, and I will inform you when I have formed the elite troop."

As the sun began its descent, casting a warm golden light across the forest, Gobusuke made his way towards Gray's cabin. The sound of dirt and pebbles shifting underfoot was the only audible noise as he walked with a purpose, his mind focused on the task at hand.
Reaching the cabin, Gobusuke knocked twice on the door and waited patiently for Gray to answer. As soon as the door opened, he wasted no time in delivering the news.
"My lord, the elite unit is ready. We can begin the attack now," Gobusuke announced with a sense of urgency.
Gray's eyes lit up with anticipation. "Excellent work, Gobusuke. Can I see the goblins that you have picked?"
Without a word, Gobusuke whistled and made a hand gesture at their location. In an instant, a group of blurred figures appeared on the horizon, moving swiftly towards the cabin...
As the group of goblins approached, Gray could see that they were unlike any goblins he had ever seen. They were lean and muscular, with keen eyes that surveyed their surroundings with precision.
Gray watched in amazement as the goblins lined up in formation, bowing their heads in unison. Their weapons glinted in the fading sunlight, and Gray knew that they were ready for battle.
The elite unit is composed of:
Captain:
- Gobusuke, the Lightning Samurai Goblin!
Vice-Captain:
- Goburus, the Scythelord Goblin!
Members:
- Gobulus, the Shadow Blade Goblin!
- Gobryx, the Dual Arcane Pistolero Goblin!
- Gobius, the Shadow Sniper Goblin!
- Gobrielle, the Beastcaller Goblin!
- Gobbie, the Scout Goblin!
- Gobshin, the Assassin Goblin!
"Stand," Gray commanded, and the goblins immediately snapped to attention in unison, their faces were serious and focused. They stood shoulder to shoulder, forming a tight and disciplined formation.
"Excellent work, Gobusuke," Gray said with a nod of approval.
Gray retrieved 8 pieces of black leather armor from his inventory and turned to Gobusuke. "Get one of these and distribute them to the elite unit. You guys need to wear it for the attack."
Gobusuke nodded, "Understood and thanks, my lord."
The goblins followed suit, expressing their gratitude at the same time. "Thank you, boss!" they said in perfect synchrony.
