It hadn't been possible to get there from the Heaven Continent because a shackle had been set that made it impossible to reach there directly with a Space-Breaking Spell.

Although the Earth Continent and the Xuanhuang Continent constituted a portion of the Heaven Continent, they were only a very small fragment. Their shackles were not firm and hence the Space-Breaking Spell was able to bypass them.

If one wanted to return to the Heaven Continent, one had to start off from the Xuanyi Celestial Realm on the Earth Continent, then pass through the Mirror Lake toward the Heaven Continent.

However, Xu Que's first stop was not the Mirror Lake in the Xuanyi Celestial Realm. He first descended to the Zhen Yuan Celestial Realm. This was the Celestial Realm where Xu Que had first stepped onto the Earth Continent.

Practically all of the Zhen Yuan Celestial Realm was the Exploding Heavens Faction's territory.
