Inside the bathroom, Serena proceeded to locate a cloth and a basin. When she did, she went in front of the lavatory to wash them and fill the basin with water. While waiting, she couldn't help but tear up. She felt so guilty inside her heart and at the same time, she was hurting for Geoffrey. How could he love her this much? Why was he still treating her this way? She does not deserve any of his kindness.

Hearing the water overflow, she quickly dabbed her eyes with her right wrist while turning the knob of the faucet to close it with her left hand. She looked at her reflection on the mirror, making sure that she appeared normal.

Returning to the bedroom, she saw that Geoffrey was still standing where she left him. He was fiddling with a button of his outer wear and perhaps feeling her presence, he looked towards her direction. As their eyes met, he gave her a helpless look.

"I don't think I'll ever be used to removing this myself."
