Chapitre 116: Chapter 116: Revelation II

With her heart pounding in her chest, Serena picked up the earpiece and placed it on her ear. She could not hear anything from the other line, but she knew that Geoffrey must be patiently waiting for her. She pulled the vertical cylindrical neck of the candle stick telephone where the microphone was mounted and placed it near her mouth. 

She was about to call his name, but her heart wrenched, and she was suddenly at a lost for words. What does she say to him? What if her voice betrays her nerves and guilt? 

Geoffrey heard movements from the other line, but he waited but didn't hear the person speak so he asked, "Has Serena already left?"

Hearing Geoffrey's voice after more than a month and a half, she had to bite her lips to keep them from trembling. It's not because she regrets her actions, she has already decided to leave him, but given that they have shared almost 4 years in marriage, a part of her still felt incredibly sad and guilty.
