"Grandpa, you cannot throw me out. I am your dearest grandson," Chris pronounced and rose to his feet while running his fingers through his shiny, raven tresses.
"Oh, I can, Chris. You are marrying Miss Watson tomorrow, or else the door is open to you to leave this place forever," Arthur affirmed. He reminded Chris all his credit cards would be blocked and his survival would become impossible if he stepped out of the door. "So, think carefully," he stated.
Chris felt stuck as his grandfather looked serious this time. "Did she agree to marry me?" he asked.
"Of course, Suzy is ready to marry you," Arthur said with a wide smile.
"Was she here? I want to meet her," Chris stated.
"Well, Miss Watson has left a few minutes earlier than you arrived here," Arthur replied and asked Chris to give a quick answer to him. He gazed at the time on the watch and continued, "You have five minutes more left."
Chris heard something hit the floor and turned to look. Benjamin had brought his luggage out with the help of the house servants. It made him snicker in annoyance. His grandfather would kick him out if he refused to marry.
"What if Suzy Watson refuses to marry me? What if she does that? Will Grandpa stop pressuring me, then?" Chris questioned as he got an idea to get rid of Suzy.
"You can try for that. But Miss Watson will not step back from marrying you, Chris. Tomorrow at sharp three o'clock you both will marry each other," Arthur proclaimed, the smile kept growing across his lips.
"I am not marrying her. I will convince her before midnight not to marry me. Can Grandpa provide me three more hours?" Chris requested.
"Fine. You have three hours to convince Suzy Watson," Arthur gave time to his grandson.
"Give me her number," Chris said. This was the first time when he asked for a woman's number. It was always the opposite. He could not believe his own grandfather became his enemy.
"Benjamin, give Miss Watson's number to Chris," Arthur ordered.
"Miss Watson is still outside the house. She is waiting for the cab to come," Benjamin informed Chris as he sent Suzy's number in a message.
Chris didn't stand another second in the living room and rushed out to catch Suzy.
Arriving at his sports car, Chris swiftly put on his seatbelt and drove his sports car out of the mansion.
Chris applied the brakes to see an elegant woman, in a business suit, waiting for the taxi. He stepped out of the car and walked to her.
Hearing the footsteps, Suzy turned her head to look when she saw a young man approaching her. Was he Chris? She thought and checked him out.
Chris was tall and well-built, exuding a magnetic presence as he finally stood before her. His chiseled jawline and mesmerizing ocean-blue eyes framed by dark, wavy hair added to the allure of his appearance.
"Suzy Watson?" He arched his eyebrow at her.
She finally noticed the lip piercing on Chris' lips but quickly averted her gaze from them. "Yes, I am," she said.
Chris grasped her hand, making her flinch in surprise. The next second she was pinned to the wall behind her. Suzy got the faint alcoholic scent emanating from him.
"How dare you decide to marry me?" His voice growled at her.
"I did what I feel is right," Suzy said and tried to push him away, but it was in vain.
"Tell my grandfather you aren't marrying me. I know Grandpa bought you with money. You can tell me your price and I will make sure to please you not only with money but also in my bed," Chris affirmed, causing her to feel disgusted. No men ever dared to talk this way with her.
"Neither I want your money nor do I want a man like you to please me in the bed," Suzy pronounced while twisting her hands in his grip. The phone in her pocket was ringing, but Chris wasn't ready to let go of her.
Chris hooked his hand on her neck, his thumb resting on her lips as he traced them. "I will make your life hell. You don't know what kind of man I am. So, better run away from me. You will cry living your life with me," he proclaimed, trying to intimidate her.
"Sadly, I don't run away from anyone," Suzy asserted and told him to move his thumb away from her lips.
Chris found Suzy was a determined woman, different from the others he had met till now. His one touch would make them weak. But this woman was different.
The cab which Suzy had booked arrived by that time. She managed to push away Chris and stepped away from him. "No one can stop this marriage from happening. You need to accept me as your wife tomorrow in front of everyone. Now, like a good and obedient boy, you should go inside your house," she said and went toward the cab.
Getting inside the cab, Suzy left for her company.
Chris ran his fingers through his raven here. "F*ck!" He cursed loudly since it was not what he had expected. For the first time in his life, he had to go against his wish.
At that moment, Chris recalled what his grandfather told him. "I will crumble her world. She will divorce me on her own then," he affirmed. For now, he would agree to the marriage.
Chris got back into his sports car and drove inside the mansion. Arthur was still in the living room, talking with someone on the phone. Seeing Chris return so early, Arthur hung up the call.
"Grandpa, I will make Suzy's life hell. I will marry her but you will be responsible for the pain she will get in this marriage," Chris said, annoyance etched on his face.
Arthur scrunched his brows in worry as he watched Chris heading upstairs.
Benjamin approached Arthur and asked him if he did right. "Chris has never taken any of his relationships seriously. He always breaks women's hearts and moves to the next woman. I wonder if Miss Watson will be able to survive with him," he worriedly said.
"I want my grandson to change. I know Miss Watson will get hurt numerous times in this marriage. However, I believe that she will definitely change Chris into a better man. Chris asked me three hours but Suzy made him give an answer within ten minutes. Can you imagine the influence she will have on Chris once they both get married?" Arthur asked a tiny smile again forming on his lips.
"Miss Watson definitely will change Chris, but she will suffer too," Benjamin said.
Arthur nodded his head. "I know, but this is the only way to bring Chris on the right path," he proclaimed.
