Suzy stroked Chris' hair and gently pulled away from him. Seeing him in this condition, she was hurt too. She looked for water, but could only find alcohol bottles. Her eyes were moistened but she didn't wish to cry in front of Chris for his own sake.

When I told Mom, she told me it must be a friend. Now, I realize why she said that. She didn't wish this affair to come out because she knew Brian would divorce her.
