Chapitre 7: Just another girl.

Leticia woke up, feeling anything but refreshed. The headache was still there but as a dull pain at the back of her head. Probably because of the way Devon had pulled her hair. Then she sighed, rubbing her eyes.

She checked the digital alarm by the bed and saw that it was already 7:08. Her eyes flew wide in shock, and she quickly jumped out of bed to freshen up. "Wait, what am I supposed to wear?" She muttered frantically to herself, looking around the room.

Just at that moment, her eyes fell on the king-sized closet. It was obviously a walk-in closet, and she rushed towards it, hoping to see a few clothes, but to her surprise, it was filled with rows of dresses, shirts, and pants. 'How?' she wondered, her mind racing for she's ever seen so much clothes in one closet. Without waiting to think much, she picked a short purple dress and wore a pair of flats.

She sat patiently on the bed, waiting for his call. Honestly, she was already dozing off, her eyelids drooping. Till she heard, "Leticia!" Her eyes popped open, and she sat up straight.

"Leticia" She heard again, the voice echoing in her mind. She was astonished, her heart racing, when she heard, "Come to the dining room, now!" That's absolutely Devon's voice but then, in her head?! What the... She left her room in search of the dining room, her mind reeling with questions.

On her way, she met Karina, who came up to her with a gentle smile and asked if she was feeling better. Leticia nodded, feeling a bit embarrassed, "Yeah, I'm sorry I sounded so harsh earlier."

Karina smiled with a bow, "It's okay, I understand."

Leticia nodded, "Thanks, um...how do I get to the dining room ?" Karina nodded and walked away and Leticia quickly followed.

Leticia entered the dining room, and the aroma of food hit her, making her stomach growl. She noticed the peculiar group of people, including Luis, who smiled at her and she returned it. And Devon, who ignored her not that she minded.

She also saw a lady with red eyes, who glared at her, another guy who didn't bother looking up.

She got to Devon and bowed a bit,"Good morning, master." Even though she absolutely hated calling him master, she had no choice.

Being the arrogant jerk he is, Devon did not reply. He didn't even acknowledge her.

Leticia stood beside him, feeling hungry and uncomfortable. She wondered how she heard his voice in her head, thinking it might be some kind of technology or a chip in her head.

The lady with red eyes suddenly spoke up, "Hey, I know you!" Leticia looked at her, raising her brows. She looked older than Leticia was , but damn, she's so beautiful. Her wavy black hair was long and glossy, with round red eyes. Seriously?! Red eyes! Is she related to Devon or Luis?

"I...I don't think I've seen you before," Leticia replied honestly. She's never seen her.

The lady glared, "Liar, you bumped into me yesterday and didn't apologize!" Leticia actually remembered bumping into someone. She said apologetically, "Oh, sorry about that."

The girl scoffed, and Leticia wondered what the attitude was for. The beauty turned to Devon, "Brother Devon, can she get out? Her presence is making me lose my appetite."

Leticia raised a brow at her bratinees but then she'd just called Devon brother. They don't even look alike. At all.

Devon glanced at her, his eyes cold and uninterested, "Ignore her like she doesn't exist." Leticia clenched her jaw and Seraphim nodded though she didn't look satisfied.

Leticia just stood there, observing them. They are VERY peculiar. Their aura, especially Devon's, was so intriguing yet repulsing. And their beauty was beyond. She felt really uncomfortable.

Then, the silent guy stood up, and Leticia saw his face. She was taken aback by his handsome features. Dark hair and his lips were pale. His eyes, too, were a striking light red. His face was expressionless, and no emotion crossed his eyes, but Leticia couldn't help but be drawn to him.

As their eyes met, Leticia blushed and looked away, feeling a flutter in her chest. His gaze was intense, and she couldn't handle it. Before she knew it, he was leaving the room like he was never there.

She heard Seraphim ask Luis, "Hey, where do you think brother Quynn goes every day?"

Luis smiled politely, "I have no idea."

Seraphim eyed him in annoyance, "Why would you?" She rolled her eyes, clearly uninterested in Luis's response. Luis resumed his food, seemingly unfazed by Seraphim. It looked like they were used to her bratty behavior.

After breakfast, Devon stood up and walked away without a word. Leticia quickly followed him and Seraphim followed as well, pushing Leticia out of the way and she clung to Devon's arm.

She beamed at Devon, "Brother Devon, you said you'd spend time with me, but you never did." She pouted, her red lips jutting out in a sulk and Leticia cringed.

Devon sent Seraphim a sideways glance, a sly smirk spreading across his face. "I literally didn't say that, did I?"

Before Seraphim could continue her whining, they heard a cherry call. The three looked up and Seraphim's expression changed immediately. She made a disgusted face but Leticia was gawking at her.

She was also so damn beautiful that Leticia began to feel intimidated. She took a step backwards as the lady got closer. One thing; She had red eyes.

She didn't acknowledge anyone but Devon. She smiled at him, "Hey."

Seraphim glared at her, "What is it, Ruolan?"

Ruolan sent Seraphim a fake smile, her light red eyes showing her scorn, "Oh, I didn't see you there Serafina."

"It's Seraphim. "

Ruolan eyed her "I see." Then she turned to Devon with a sweet smile, "Well, I'm here."

Devon said to Seraphim, "Let go, Sera. I have work to do."

"B... But" One look Devon gave Seraphim shut her up. Reluctantly, she let go of his arm. She gave Ruolan death eyes before storming away.

Ruolan rolled her eyes in annoyance, "So immature."

Devon walked away and Ruolan went after him. If she saw Leticia there well she didn't act like she did.

Leticia thought 'Huh, am I supposed to follow him?.' She decided to anyway.

Leticia followed Devon and Ruolan to the lobby, feeling out of place.

The lobby wasn't too large and it was designed in a beautiful but simple style with few paintings hanging on the walls.

Ruolan sat beside Devon, and Leticia stood by the door, trying not to eavesdrop. Ruolan smiled sweetly, "Devon, I did the transactions to Luis, and he's given me papers to sign."

Devon asked nonchalantly, "Good, deal closed?"

Ruolan pouted and Leticia wondered why ladies do that around him, "Come on, Devon, you shoved me away on Friday. Don't tell me you'll do that again."

Devon smirked, "I'm not. It's not like you don't know the way to a room." Ruolan cupped his cheeks and kissed his lips .She didn't just do that! Aren't they aware of her presence?

Leticia almost puked at the sight. She turned away, closing her eyes. 'seriously? He's gonna do that... So shameless.' She thought,' So this is the work, huh?'

Turning, she still closed her eyes, now flushing she asked "M-Master, may I.. May I go?" Devon hummed in response, still locked in a kiss with Ruolan.

Leticia quickly exited and on her way out, she bumped into a blond guy. "Oh, sorry," she apologized, helping him pick up his phone that had fallen due to the bump.

He gawked at her, and Leticia blinked, "Um, sir, your phone..."

He smiled, a dimple appearing on his left cheek, making him look cute, "It's Cecil. My name is Cecil. What's yours?"

Leticia smiled, "Leticia."

His blue eyes lit up. Finally! Someone without red eyes! "Oh, so you're Leticia. Did Luis say you're pretty? He's blind, you're beautiful. Sexy, in fact." He winked, and Leticia blushed, feeling a bit flustered.

"Thanks, sir...I mean, Cecil. Have you seen Luis?"

"Yup, in the library," Cecil replied.

With an embarrassed smile, Leticia inquired, "Where's the library?" Cecil gladly led her there. "Thank you so much. Here." Leticia handed him his phone and he collected it.

Cecil waved before going his way, "See ya!"

Leticia entered the library, awestruck. The shelves were towering, filled with books, and the whole room was very large and spacious. Her opal eyes searched around the room, walking gently.

She spotted Luis sitting on a chair, a red-covered book in his hands and her heart skipped a beat. 'He's every girl's dream.' She thought, walking up to him.

Luis felt a new but familiar aura fill the room and he looked up from the book he held. It was Leticia, walking towards him while glancing around the library. Finally, she got to him with a smile,

"Hi, may I sit?"

"Sure" Luis smiled, and Leticia sat, facing him. He's the only one who actually smiles at her and acknowledges her so she guessed he wouldn't mind talking to her too.

She then picked one of the books by the shelf beside her. It was a book by Declan Dwyane. And she and Luis read in silence.

***

The living room was dimly lit and Manuel was pacing back and forth.

His handsome face was twisted in worry and rage. Suddenly, Manuel snarled , "I'm done being patient. She's spent days there, and all you can do is watch TV! What if he's killed her, Mya?!"

She raised a brow, looking at him like he was stupid or something.

Mya mocked, "You worry too much, Manuel. She's just another girl out there. So forget she ever existed and let's plan something else."

Manuel growled, "You sent her to that devil in the name of revenge!"

A sneer left her cherry lips, "The bitch is probably dead, Manuel. Deal with it. And in case you forgot, we both sent her there. You also wanted revenge!"

Manuel shook his head, "No, he can't do this to me again. Devon can't do this to me." His voice broke at the end.

Mya scoffed, her emerald green eyes rolling in irritation, "Anyways, suit yourself. But don't let that interfere with your goal. I want justice fair and square!"

MY goal?" Manuel asked, disbelief coating his words. "I'm leaving."

"If you go back on your words, Manuel, I promise to do exactly what I want, and I won't spare even you."

"I'd like to see you try" he snapped and walked out, into his car, and drove off.

***

Someone smirked as they watched Manuel's car zoom off. He entered his own car and murmured, "He definitely has something to do with all these. He never learns, does he?"
