Esong sat upright and pushed his body forward. His legs and hers met in the middle, touching while they faced each other from the opposite luggage pods on which they were sitting. 

He put his right hand over his heart and assured her, "I did not do anything inappropriate last night. Folsom and I spent the night in a testing room. We tested a bunch of weapons, drunk a whole lot of beer and fell asleep. That's it, nothing like a pleasure house. I am actually offended that you would think so little of me. Have I ever given you a reason to think that I would visit a pleasure house?" 

He folded his arms across his chest and gave her an accusing look just like the one she was giving him. 

Scarlet on the other hand was aware that she was behaving rashly but for some reason, something in her refused to back down.
