"Have you heard of ability cards before?" A gruff middle-aged man asked in a huffing-like mannerism, wiping away his sweat and breathing out loud.

He was a baron-ranked noble but looked more like a flamboyant youngster with overly shiny clothes that could blind the unprepared eye.

He was born with a weak lung and difficulty breathing, making him breathe loudly all the time.

It reached a point where all his friends stopped associating with him and became a target for ridicule.

While he used drugs and potions to heal himself, nothing helped him but a drug that further ruined his physical health. His parents had to take away his allowance and monitor his spending to ensure he wouldn't buy more drugs.

He remained isolated, as he only irritated the other nobles with his presence and was not willing to befriend commoners.

The only place that welcomed him as a relatively high-ranking mage was the academy.
