Chapitre 54: Investigation

Rachel's POV

Sitting in my living room, my back propped up on the couch as I gazed up at the ceiling. I've been positioned that way for a while since I got home from work.

A million causes, scenarios and solutions kept swirling through my mind in the minutes or hours I sat, unmoving. The rise and fall of my chest, the only indication I hadn't become one of the furnitures.

The words of the attorney kept ringing in my head and I was at a crossroads with my emotions. I felt the need to cry, laugh, scream and fold myself in a ball all at the same time.

My heart continued to race as a sickening sensation settled in my stomach each time I thought about what it meant for R&D at that point.

"I can't believe we lost the event center," I moaned in a sob, my whole being becoming overwhelmed.
