I peered over to see Kai entering the bedroom. He smiled at me whenever he closed the door. I, however, furrowed my eyebrows at him being less than flattered to see him after all these days.
"What's with the cute face?" he seemingly teased, crawling onto the bed.
As he got closer to kiss me, I leaned away, trying not to disturb my sleeping kitten at the edge of my bed. Instantly I smelled a woman's rosey perfume, fuming off of his body, and his breath reeked like blood when his mouth tilted even closer to kiss me.
"Would you go away!" I griped, pushing his chest away, while I merely dodged his kissy lips.
Kai backed off, laughing. "Are you still mad at me?"
I snapped exceedingly nasty. "I haven't seen or heard from you in a week. Now you come home at three o'clock in the morning. Only to smell like another woman and blood!"
Kai chuckled with the stupidest grin plastered on his face. I swear
anymore if he's not being Mr. Grumpy, then he acts like Rome.
"I've been busy," Kai claimed while he tried flattering me with a cute smile.
To his downfall and failure at his attempt to blarney me, I wasn't buying his charmful bait. "And not once did you call or text me!" I snapped.
"I haven't been in our world," Kai innocently justified. "You know cell phones don't work in other worlds."
"You never told me you were leaving for another world!" I still bite into his ears.
Unfazed, he chuckled. "I'm sorry I didn't. I didn't believe you'd wanna hear from me after you spoke with those detectives."
"Just because I get mad at you doesn't mean I am avoiding you." I rolled my eyes at his stupid assumption.
Kai shimmered brightly like he was enjoying my lecture. "I'll remember that next time," he noted before he leaned in to kiss me again, but I smacked his chest with the book in my hand.
"Would you go get a shower and brush your teeth!" I snarled. "You stink like another woman!"
Now Kai really cracked up. "That's because I treated myself on another woman before I came home to be with you."
"Do you even hear how badly that sounds right now?" I scoffed, nearly shocked by how he worded it like that.
It took a second for him to register what he had said in his mind before the light bulb switched on, and he started laughing louder. "Ok, that sounded better in my head, but it came out completely wrong," Kai justified, and I tried not to laugh with him. I mean, it shouldn't be funny because I know he ate a woman, so he wasn't cheating on me. Not that cheating is any better.
"I get that," I replied more mellow.
"You know I'd never cheat on you," he gently uttered. "The thought doesn't even come to mind."
Now, I was breaking the mean streak I had from when he first walked in. "Go get your shower!" I scorned, brushing this bonding between us away before opening my book to read it again.
"As you wish, my love."
In a dash, he was gone from the bed. I heard shuffling sounds in his walk-in closet before a draft swooshed by, and the bathroom door closed. Following that was the sound of running water. Never once did I see him, but he was certainly noisy enough to follow his trail as if he had left one.
In a matter of maybe ten minutes, Kai came out of the bathroom wearing nothing but his boxers to sleep in. He crawled over to me, and this time he smelled refreshing. Musky spice was scented on his skin, and his breath smelled like fresh mint. Patchouli's scent misted freshly effused on his damp hair. The aromas coming off his body was very alluring that it captured my interest.
Now when his lips attracted forward to kiss me, I met him halfway. Our lips latched tenderly and romantically paced. Felicity overtook us as we nibbled and touched our lips together up and down and all around each center and corner. Sweetness was flattering me as he began to caress his hand over my forming belly bump.
I dropped the book on my nightstand before my hand grasped his cheek to bring him closer. The kiss intensified, and got deeper when our mouths parted wider for our tongues to touch. Our tongues twirl and intertwine with a natural flow from our fawning ardor. Things were getting profoundly zested between us. Just when he was pulling my waist to his body, more than one bubble-like kick skimmed my belly. Instantly we broke the kiss, and Kai placed his hand on the small developing baby bump.
"Nothing like killing the mood." Kai chuckled as we both felt more kicks.
They felt like tiny bubbles brushing up inside me.
"I can't believe they're being this active." I smiled with my hand next to his.
"Is this their first kick?" Kai asked, beaming in his fatherly adherence.
"Yes, you didn't miss their first kick," I happily told him. "I didn't know they'd feel like bubbles."
Kai kissed my head before he laid back, and had me lay between his armpit with my head on his shoulder. We both laced fingers on my belly and took this moment to enjoy our active triplets.
"I'd say they missed you." I giggled lightly at the thought.
"They did, and they're excited we're together." Kai cooed before he kissed my crown.
"What were you doing in those other worlds?" I pried just a little out of being inquisitive.
"You know I'm looking for a haven to take you," Kai softly muttered.
"Find anything?" I questioned.
"I still have to keep looking," Kai replied with an exhausted sigh. Since nothing else was said, I rolled over and cuddled onto his chest from underneath his neck. His light breathing was soothing enough to make me feel sleepy. After that minute, I felt myself drifting into a heavy deep sleep.
Happy Mother's day. Updates maybe delayed because I have to write more chapters to be sure I have enough each week. I am slowly running low because I've been busy editing my older chapters to a better quality. Everything is very time consuming so I do apologize if that happens but don't worry the story is still moving forward. Thank you all for the power stones. Please leave a review and tell me your thoughts. I hope to hear from my readers. Have a lovely week.
