"Trance Miyazaki, can I have a word with you?" Hera asked the girl who's talking with her doctor. Trance looked at her and smile. Artemis did sit on the chair while petting her red serpent pet.
"Oh! Hi there, Ms. Hera! Sure we can talk." Hera motioned Kai to went outside for a while so the brunette did.
"You've gotten more energetic, what happened to you?" Hera sneers and looked at the blue-eyed girl who's busy staring at the serpent on Artemis's hands.
"I've always been like this, Ms. Leonel. It must be a rare sight for you since we barely meet." Trance replied and leaned on the wall behind her. "I have a question for you." Artemis stood up from her seat and the snake wrapped itself around her arm. "Correction, Hera. We have plenty of questions for her." She eyed Trance and tapped her shoe on the marble-tiled floor before scanning the whole room's interior.
"Alright, what are those?"
"First, why Valdez is too eager to get you out of here?" Artemis is the one who asked her first. The girl herself is confused, she probably doesn't know the real reason. Trance hummed as she pouted.
"I don't know. He went here again, isn't he? Did he threaten one of you? or he did go here just to threaten all of you?" Hera forced a sheepish grin at Artemis who's shocked at Trance's answer. Trance probably read her and she knows the answer immediately because it's way too obvious.
"Trance, if you don't answer us right away, we don't have a choice but to allow him to take you. Once again, why he's eager to take you?" Hera asked her. "Why don't you figure it out then?" Trance asked back. Shifting the topic to take away the idea of her and the guy she hates having a contract with.
'I signed it using another name in kanji. It's not my name. Not my problem anymore.'
"Do---" Artemis walked away from them with hands balled into fists. Concealing and holding back the irritation. Mentally saying 'that's it, I'm done with you. I'm tired of hearing nonsense this day.' Hera stared at her deeply; trying to make Trance's conscience take over.
"Alright, he's eager to bring me back because I know something against him."
"And that is?" Artemis raised a brow while Trance took a glimpse at her then averted her glance at Hera who's sitting beside her.
"He's a dick."
"We know he is--"
"If I don't cooperate you'll be left no choice but to keep me here. Stop sympathizing with me. I don't know such a thing about that guy. It's not like I take every information about him just to find a hole in his character and use the disadvantage." Trance stood up then raised her hands, "Back to Priam Videlle he told us that he's a king." She gives the women the look of 'I told you all what I knew.' Artemis scanned her from head to toe before smirking. She simply turned at Hera who grimaced and pulled her five feet away from Trance.
"Are you out of your mind? That one is a rouge as her brother." She asked in a low enough voice so Trance won't hear them. Trance lowered her book to watch them above her peripheral vision.
"I know she can do that. She's the toughest one I met back there. Do you ever imagine that a girl like her being the leader of the prison section? If you put a mere girl, those delinquents will treat her as their bitch." Hera facepalmed and looked at her counterpart with a pissed expression.
"But those we fought are far from her classmates." Artemis shook her head and tapped Hera's shoulder.
"They're not. Felix Valdez is her classmate, one of the most powerful mafia kings in dark society, part of the great three. That boy in the other room is her brother, he killed people ruthlessly. Add the fact that they're part of the Miyazaki clan. Do you think he's different from them? Trance doesn't have any data about herself or even we use your great hackers to gather information about her but don't even have a piece of single information about her. She's compatible aside from she didn't exist in the mundane world."
"Okay fine. Just ask your ace about that. If she says no, what are you going to do?"
"Bring her back to Valdez and send some agents for surveillance." They both face Trance who's keeping herself busy with the book that Kai gives to her. Hera did clear her throat and walked towards Trance.
"We have the last question for you, Trance." Artemis set her snake on the ground and let it crawl towards the blue-eyed female.
"Do you want to join this organization?" Trance did stare at her and started to feel a roller-coaster of emotion when she met Hera's serious gaze. She twirled her fingers at the sheets of her bed and smiled awkwardly. The serpent scrawl on her feet, making her scoop the reptile then brushed her finger on its head.
"What is it? Come again?"
"Join Excalibur, work on the secret service like us. Go to the mission and fight. We will train you while you're studying outside. We will also clean your records." Cath's remarkable phrases on Trance made the girl didn't hesitate and smirk. "I'm in."
"Alright, we finally got your answer. For the next two days prepare yourself for training." Artemis said before she picked her snake on the ground and went outdoors together with her friend.
"This will be tough training." Trance murmurs while reading the book from Kai.
"So, I heard from the duo that you're joining us, Izanami," Kai said as he sits beside her. A lopsided smile flashed on Trance's lips then put herself in a crouching position.
"The news spread quickly a flash of lightning, isn't it? It reaches you without a blink of an eye."
"Well, I was waiting for them to leave. I didn't mean to eavesdrop but I overheard it."
"It doesn't matter anyway." She answered back before she lifted her gaze at Kai who's combing her hair.
"What? I'm just trying to braid your hair." Kai sneers and stops running the brush in her hair. Trance shook her head and let the doctor brush her hair gently. "Kaizer Lawrence, I'm not going to kill you or whatever. I guess there's no reason for you to worry." She paused then nudged his arm.
"Hey! What was that for?!"
"Never tell anyone about this." Trance said in a stoic expression then placed her arm on his shoulder. Kai confusingly stared at her then pushed himself against the wall.
"Alright, and what is it?"
"My clan is..." Trance rubbed her forehead then closed her eyes and heave a deep sigh. "My clan is of one of the powerful clans on Japan aside from the imperial family. I, my grandfather, the twins are the only members left. My grandfather is the master of our family. The twins, I know one of them are the heir." Kai glanced at her face then shifted back his gaze on his hands. He rubbed his fingers together as it balled into a fist. Silently and mentally wishing that his files are present on his side.
"I got enlisted at the prison section because of arson and murder." Kai can't see the hint of being an arsonist and murderer to her but he can't withhold the possibility that Trance did that.
"Well, that dark past cannot be forgotten easily yet when you tried to fix who you are it'll be easy. Forget about your dreadful memories of the past, Trance. We're here for you and your family is here for you too. Now, do you want to go outside?" Trance did smirk before she stood up and march outside with Kai.
"Don't worry, Izanami. I'm going to fix all of your requirements so you can be passed on this semester." Kai said as he waved to the guards.
"She's not allowed!"
"She is! I'm her doctor, Brian!" Kai shouted before he pulled Trance away from them. Kai cursed when he heard the dogs barking. "The dogs, run!" Trance can feel his distress so she's the one who pulled him and runs fast towards the field, laughing while the dogs are barking at them.
"Faster! The dogs are----ouch!"
"Watch your step." Trance and Kai both froze when they heard the familiar voice. The girl lifted her gaze at the man who's standing in front of her with a smirk on his face.
"You can leave me now, Hermes. The one is was looking for is here." Both of t cursed when they heard the dogs coming. Kai did realize that he shouldn't be afraid or panic because of the dogs because they already acknowledged him.
"Why you're running?"
"The dogs." Trance said before pulling her clueless doctor away from Felix who's glaring at Kai. "Where are you going?" He asked in a cold tone, making Trance stop from her third step.
"Trance, I think you should talk to him. I'm going to do something. I have a session with Haru this day." Even she doesn't want her doctor to leave her with Felix, she just lets him because she knows that Kai is not comfortable with the gray-eyed man standing three feet away from them.
"I'm going back now." Trance followed the doctor inside and went back to her room without looking back on her track. She's about to close the door when a foot stopped her halfway doing it. Trance hooked her head as she forced it to close.
"I'm sleeping. The visiting hours are over."
"You rascal. Why do you join them?" He asked her.
"It's none of your business." Felix narrowed his eyes at her and clamped his big hands on her shoulders.
"It's business. You're my business, Trance."
"Then should I go and invest in the stock market?" Felix showed her the folded paper and dialed something on his phone.
"Come here, Greek boy." He said in a serious tone, making Trance scratch her cheek in annoyance while waiting for that certain someone to come over. Felix leaned on the door frame.
"What is it?" Kai asked while Haru is standing behind him.
"Read the last page so this one would believe me." He commanded and hand him the paper. Kai looked at Trance in confusion but the girl looked away.
"I-It's a marriage contract, there's something written in kanji, and Felix did the same." Her eyes widened in awe and her mouth was left ajar as she stares at Felix who's standing beside her brother with seriousness on his face.
"The character means.." Kai showed it to the guy behind him.
"Jin."
"Uh-oh, that's not my name."
