Chapitre 10: C.D.C. part 1
Zane looked on as his dad dragged Jim into the R.V. and come out minutes later only to walk over to Shane like the conversation from before had never happened. Zane sat on a log and watched everything that happened and he was bored out of his mind, since nothing exciting was happening since the fight from earlier, he felt bad that he found what happened earlier as entertainment but he just couldn't help find it as a kind of time passer.
He decided not to dwell on it though and looked around lazily, until he spotted Carl he got up and began walking over to his brother but he heard something, that resembled groans but he could barely hear where it was coming from, he looked over to see Amy slowly getting up as Andrea held her lovingly and talked to her, Everyone to notice the scene and looked on as Andrea pulled her gun out and shot her sister in the head. Zane teared up, and hoped that would never be any member of his family. Rick and Shane were digging graves for the fallen survivors of their camp, Lori and the children sat by the tree far enough where they couldn't here the conversation. while they were digging Rick noticed the way Shane was looking at him, while he was digging and got tired of it.
Rick : "Say it."
Shane : "Okay. I'm thinking if you'd of stayed here, if you'd have looked after your own - - Instead you went off. You took half our manpower with you. I'm thinking maybe our losses wouldn't have been so bad."
He says as he slams his shovel into the dirt and looks at Rick angrily, rick feeling that wasn't true defends his actions.
Rick : "If we hadn't gone off and brought those guns back when we did, I think our losses would have been a lot worse. Maybe the entire camp."
As he says that Daryl arrives, with the truck full of dead survivors from camp. Shane being infuriated with Rick's words spits on the ground and begins digging again. Daryl gets out the truck and head's over to Rick and Shane.
Daryl : "I still think it's a mistake not burning these bodies. It's what we said we'd do, right? Burn 'Em all, wasn't that the idea?"
Shane : "At first."
Daryl : "The Chinaman gets all emotional, says it's not the thing to do, we just follow him along? These people need to know who the hell's in charge here, what the rules are."
Rick : "There are no rules. "
Lori : "Well that's a problem. We haven't had one minute to hold onto anything of our old selves. We need time to mourn and to bury our dead. It's what people do." She says as she walks away.
Zane watched alongside his mother and brother as Andrea tried to drag her sister's body into one of the graves His father and Sane dug, she was struggling to get her sister's body into the grave Dale was trying to help but she wouldn't allow him to help her in her mind she felt she was the one who had to bury her. As Zane watched her struggle it made him sad, he may not have liked Andrea much but he respected her he didn't know how she kept it together after her sister died. He felt would've probably lost it if he was in her shoes he thought to himself.
Andrea finally dragged her sister's body into the grave, as everyone looked on at the sight some of them even shed tears. Dale helped Andrea out of the grave, and supported her after she stumbled a bit. After they stood and looed at the graves of there fallen survivors and friend's they left, while Rick was walking back to the campsite with his family he said something.
Rick : "Burying other people is bad enough, But the thought of one of us - -"
Lori : "Shh."
Carl : "Are we safe now, dad? Now that were together?"
Rick kneels down in front of both of his son's.
Rick : "I won't leave again. I promise you that. not for anything. Now give me a chance to discuss some things with your mom, okay?"
Carl and Zane nod and walk away towards the camp site without their parents who stay behind to talk about things.
Rick : "Shane blames me for not being here. Do you?"
He says with sadness in his voice, he looks her in the eyes as she stares back at him with open trying her best to come up with a response. Before she could he interrupts her by speaking again.
Rick : "We got guns now. We're stronger."
Lori : "And we have fewer people. That makes us weaker. You want me to say I think you were right? I understand that. All I can say is that neither one of you is entirely wrong. It's the best I can do right now."
Rick : "What about the C.D.C.?"
Lori : "Rick."
Rick : "We're at the ragged edge here. We need relief and we got a sick man who needs help. I don't know why people can't see that."
Lori : "Well, look at their faces. Look at mine. We're all terrified. If one of us suggested, based on a hunch, that we head toward that city, you'd have no part of it. Tell me something with certainty."
Rick : "I love you. T- That's all I got."
Lori : "I love you too."

Rick and Lori walk into the R.V. Rick knocks on the wall as they walked into where Jim lied sick on the bed with carol tending to him.
Carol : "His fever is worse."
Lori : "You need anything?"
Jim : "Uh . . . water. Could use more water."
Lori : "I'll get some. okay carol, you help me?"
Rick stay's with Jim and smiles at him as he sits down by his bed, Jim positions himself more comfortably and begins to speak.
Jim : "You save a grave for me?"
Rick : "Nobody wants that."
Jim : "It's not about what yo want. That, uh - - That sound you hear, That's god laughing while you make plans."
Rick : "What I want, Jim, if - - if god allows, is to get you some help."
Jim looks over towards the wall and starts groaning, suddenly he begins coughing. Rick quickly hand's him the bucket lying next to the bed. Jim begins coughing up blood, when he finally stops he starts groaning and taking deep breathes.
Jim : "Watch the mangroves. Their roots will gouge the whole boat. you know that, right? Amy is there swimming. You'll watch the boat, right? You said you would."
Rick : "I'll watch the boat. Don't worry."
Jim : "Okay."
Rick is walking out of the R.V. when he hears Shane and Lori talking, he steps out and hears them arguing about breaking habits so he ask a question.
Rick : "What habits?"
Shane : "Just talking about my need for a plan, man. So what is it? are we leaving or not? Maybe Y'all just want stay here. We could hang some more tin cans."
Rick : "We can't stay here. we both know that."
Lori : "I was just telling Shane I think we should trust your gut."
Rick looks over at Lori but doesn't say anything everyone is just quiet, until Shane get annoyed.
Shane : "Let's go do our sweep."
They head off to go do their sweep and, they head into the wood's and check the perimeter of the campsite while their walking Shane starts talking.
Shane : "Tell you what, man, these people, man they're not convinced. you know? you head to the C.D.C. you might be on your own. you gotta really consider whether you want to put Lori Carl and Zane in that kind of spot."
Rick : "I got to do what's best for my family."
Shane : "Best for your family? what's that? Exposing them to all kinds of risks?"
Rick : "As opposed to what? Crossing 100 miles of hostile territory? If we're looking for lifeline, I say swim toward the closets ship, not further out to sea. Why can't you back me up?"
Shane : "Look I want to it's just . . . I don't see it."
Rick : "If it was your family, you'd feel differently."
Shane : "What did you say to me? I kept 'Em safe, man. I looked after them like they were my own. That's what I did."
Rick : "I didn't mean it that way."
Shane : "Well, How'd you mean it? Go on, man. How'd you mean it?"
Rick : " (sighs) You're misinterpreting me. You're just hearing it wrong."
Shane : "Yeah."
Rick : "Look, you know - - You know I can never repay that debt, okay?"
As they were mid conversation they hear a branch snap and, they go different directions to cover more ground. As Shane is search he turns back and see's rick in his sight's he, thinks about shooting him before lowering his gun. Shane look's over to see dale looking at him.
Dale : "Jesus."
Shane : "(chuckles) I know. Gonna have to start wearing reflective vest out here. Seriously. Come on, man. Come on, man, let's go. Nothing out here."
When they, get back to the campsite Shane walks to the middle and decides to make an announcement.
Shane : "I've been thinking, uh - - I've been thinking about Rick's plan. Now look, their are no - - There are no guarantees either way. I'll be the first one to admit that. I've know this man a long time. I trust his instincts. I say the most important thing here is we need to stay together. so those of you that agree, we leave first thing in the morning. Okay?"

Shane : "Everybody listen up. Those of you with C.B.s, we're gonna be on channel 40. let's keep the chatter down, okay now you gotta problem, don't have a C.B. , Cant get a signal or anything at all, you're gonna hit your horn one time. That'll stop the caravan. Any questions."
Morales : "We're, uh . . . We're - - We're not going.
Morales wife : "We have family in Birmingham. We want to be with our people."
Shane : "You go on your own, you won't have anyone to watch your back."
Morales : "We'll take the chance. I got to do what's best for my family."
Rick : "You sure?"
Morales : "We talked about it. We're sure."
Rick : "All right. Shane."
Shane : "Yeah, All right."
Rick : ".375?"
Shane : "Yeah."
Rick and, Shane walk over to Morales with a revolver and, some ammo and, hand it to him. Morales grabs the revolver.
Shane : "The box is half full."
Daryl walks off angrily because of the fact their giving away weapons. Lori gets up and heads over to Morales family and hugs Morales wife.
Morales wife : "Thank you all . . . for everything."
Shane : "Good luck, man."
Morales : "Appreciate it."
Rick : "Channel 40 if you change your minds."
Shane : "What makes you think our odds are any better? Come on. Let's go. Let's move out."
They all get in the vehicles they were supposed to ride in and they all set off, with Morales and his family going in the opposite direction. they have to stop a little down the line with the R.V. breaking down. Rick goes in the R.V and Jim decided he wanted to die which Rick discussed, with the whole group and they decided to leave him rather than kill him. they all pay their respects to him before heading back and leaving.
The group finally make it to their destination and they step out and see walker corpses laid about. they start walking through cautiously trying to find a way through. Rick is trying to encourage them to all stay calm they start banging on the door, but suddenly walkers start showing up.
T-dog : "There's nobody here."
Rick : "Then why are these shutters down?"
Daryl : "Walkers."
Lori : "Baby, come on."
They quickly deal with the walkers.
Daryl : "You led us into a graveyard!"
Shane : "He made a call."
Daryl : "It was the wrong damn call!"
Shane : "Just shut up. you hear me? shut up. Shut up!"
Shane : "Rick this is a dead end."
Lori : "where are we gonna go."
Shane : "Do you hear me? no blame."
Lori : "He's right. We can't be here, tis close to the city after dark."
Shane : "Fort Benning Rick still an option."
Lori : "On what? no food, no fuel. that's 100 miles."
Glenn : "125. I checked the map."
Lori : "Forget fort Benning. We need answers tonight, now."
Rick : "We'll think of something."
Shane : "come on, let's go"
Daryl : "Let's get out of here."
Glenn : "Let's go. please."
Shane : "All right, everybody back to the cars."
Rick looks up at the camera and, see's it move and gets hope.
Rick : "The camera - - it moved."
Dale : "You imagined it."
Rick : "It moved. It moved."
Shane : "Rick, it is dead, man. It's an automated device. It's gears, okay? They're just winding down. Now come on. Man, just listen to me. Look around this place. It's dead, okay? It's dead. You need to let it go, Rick."
Rick frees himself from Shane's grasp and start's banging on the door of the C.D.C. , screaming.
Rick : "I know you're in there. I know you can hear me. Please, we're desperate. Please help us. We have women, children, no food, hardly any gas left. if you don't let us in, your killing us! PLEASE!"
Shane begins dragging rick away, when suddenly the door opens and they all stare inside.
