Chapitre 50: Calm Before the Storm

Following directions from her father, Vyra finally changed her Sunday plans that she previously wanted to just spend the day lazing around.

But Vyra didn't mind either. Rainn has moved to his new place and that is good news. So there's no harm in visiting to congratulate him.

When she saw the address given by her father, Vyra felt a little surprised. Rainn has moved to a very nice place. This five-story apartment building is owned by the guild master of the Millennium Falcon. Of course, Vyra wondered how Rainn had access to this place from his former place in district three.

Once at the reception desk, Vyra asked where Rainn was and she was told that Rainn occupied room number five on the fifth floor. Vyra went straight there. After ringing the bell several times, the door finally opened. Rainn greeted Vyra with a face that had just woken up.

"Vyra?" Rainn frowned when he saw Vyra in front of him.

"Hi," said Vyra. "I want to congratulate you because you finally move."

Rainn who had just woken up from a very comfortable sleep tried to reach his consciousness. "Uhh, yeah... come in."

Vyra went inside and saw cardboard boxes still scattered in the place.

"You haven't even tidied everything up yet," said Vyra, looking at the cardboard boxes.

"I still haven't had time." Rainn plopped down on the sofa. The sofa was so comfortable and soft that Rainn felt that he could fall asleep again now.

"I brought cookies." Vyra put the box she brought on the table.

"Thanks."

Then Vyra sat next to Rainn. "How did you move here?"

"Avois... uhh... Mr. DuMorne arranged everything."

Vyra's eyes widened at him. "Mr. DuMorne set it up himself?"

Rainn just nodded. Vyra is silent. A guild master arranging Rainn's move was something quite odd. Her father didn't tell her anything about any of this. Rainn must be considered to have some important value by Mr. DuMorne. Otherwise, why arrange everything until he can move in on his own this fast?

"You must think this is very strange, don't you?" asked Rainn. As if he could read the thoughts behind Vyra's silence.

"Honestly," said Vyra. "That is indeed strange. You do know that Mr. DuMorne is a Guild Master, right?"

Rainn nodded. Then shrugged. "I also don't know what that blonde guy's intentions are. But I'm also in need of a new place because the Investigators might question me again."

Vyra's brow furrowed, "What do you mean?"

Then Rainn told about himself being interrogated in a restaurant. Also the arrival of Sefyr the Vice-Captain. The explanation took Vyra by surprise.

"They've gone that far..." Vyra muttered.

"Yeah, that sucks," Rainn said. "But now it's unlikely that such a thing will happen again."

Vyra looked at Rainn. "Did you really learn about magic by yourself?"

"Of course."

"You seem talented. I feel like I still can't thank you enough for protecting me," said Vyra.

"You don't have to think too much about it. You just have to reduce your stupidity."

Vyra bit her lip with a regretful expression on her face. "Yeah, you're right."

"Did you decide to disband the club?"

"It's Amia's club so it's all her decision."

"Aren't you the leader?"

"But Amia is the founder."

Rainn chose to remain silent and didn't respond anymore.

"Anyway, since I'm already here, I'll help you tidy things up." Vyra stood and looked at the cardboard boxes.

"Don't bother. I don't have much stuff so I can do it myself," Rainn replied.

"Are you sure?"

Rainn nodded. "Don't worry."

Suddenly, Rain's cell phone rang. He picked it up and saw that there was a notification from the supernatural hunter group chat. Frowning, Rainn opened the notification.

"What's that?" asked Vyra. Rainn read the notification about the new hunting mission.

"You want to come? It's just a D rank mission," said Vyra.

"No. I wanted to look for missions Rank C and above," Rainn replied.

Vyra sat back down. "Are you really not willing to join my guild?"

Rainn didn't answer right away this time. He needed help to face whatever was going to happen in the future. Especially when he realized that the level of difficulty he was facing had also increased. Maybe Vyra could be a good help.

"Is your guild official?" asked Rainn.

Vyra turned her head because she was a little surprised. At first, Vyra thought that Rainn would immediately refuse like before. But his question seemed to indicate that Rainn might be interested.

"My guild will be an official guild in a week," said Vyra.

"Have you got the members?"

"There are already two people who have joined. They are not too much above us in age and they are quite strong."

Rainn paused and thought.

"So...?"

"I don't know. I still don't feel strong enough to join your guild." Said Rainn.

Vyra shook her head with a smile. "Don't worry. I'm sure you're strong enough."

"Well, if that's so," said Rainn. "Maybe I'll join."

Vyra's lips parted into a wide smile.

"Really?!"

Rainn nodded. Seeing her smile made him give a thin smile too.

"By the way, what's your guild name?" asked Rainn.

"Hmm, I'm not that great at making names." Vyra looks a little shy.

"Just say it. I won't be able to judge whether it's a good or a bad name either," said Rainn.

"My guild name is Unnatural Dawn," said Vyra.

Rainn naturally didn't know if the name was a good guild in everyone's eyes. But to him, it was a pretty good name.

"I like that name," Rainn commented.

"You like it?" Rainn nodded his head.

Vyra smiled. The happiness on her face was clearly visible.

"Some people who heard it thought it was a strange name," said Vyra.

"For me, the name describes the condition of the world in my eyes. We will not be able to see the natural dawn anymore because there are creatures that are ready to hunt us at any time." Then, Rainn's voice turned into a mumble. "Even within the city walls."

"What are you saying?"

"Oh, it's nothing." Rainn smiled.

"Okay," said Vyra.

The two of them started to talk about small things. Accompanied by the cookies that were brought by Vyra, their chat continued to things that were far away and didn't matter. Even so, Rainn enjoyed a relaxing time like this.

The afternoon sun that was visible from the window was getting lower and lower. The two of them did not realize that darkness was about to come.

He has got a new body now. He saw his hands, feet, face, and whole body in the mirror.

This is a new body that is not rotten and is not covered with wounds.

He smirked. A wide smile that displayed an evil face reflected in the mirror.

Now, he could start to hunt within the city walls. Something he never imagined would happen.
