" What do you mean? " Shane removed his reading glass

Williams caught his father's probing stare.

"You seem to have gotten attached to Renard's son? " Shane interrogated, staring at his son intensely. 

Williams laughed it off, awkwardly.

"O-of course not, I'm just concerned about him. We were supposed to meet yesterday for the training, against the newcomers' initiation ceremony before I got the news, that's all "

A knowing smile which his son failed to capture crossed his lips " Williams Cutter " Shane called him by his full name "This is the first time I'm seeing this level of concernment from you "
