Lord Daligarth sat behind his desk, clearly impatient, murmuring to himself as he usually did when in frantic thought, his fingers drummed rapidly and rhythmically on the wooden surface as he stared emptily, scheming in his mind as he would in such a loneness.

Suddenly, a soft hum cut through the stillness, and a Bridge opened with a heavy crackle of energy, sending a few books flying off of shelves. Stepping out of the Bridge was Merisset — or rather, the person she appeared to be.

Daligarth didn't seem surprised about this at all. It was like he had been expecting it. His cold eyes flickered up, watching as Merisset's figure approached slowly, his expression unchanging.

"Quade," he said firmly. "Excellent job. I was worried for a second that it was actually the High Meister's daughter."

Merisset's face stiffened, showing that Quade didn't believe that. "No you weren't."

Daligarth nodded slightly. "I wasn't."
