Chapitre 6: Introduction To Magic

The second-class White was attending in the morning was Introduction to Magic.

If Summoning was the way to use magic cards, then the magic guide theory was the basic theory of magic card production.

And the corresponding dual class was an actual combat class!

The students were ordered not to summon familiar spirits in the corridors of the college, but there were still people who did not follow the rules and ran around holding the familiar spirits.

White was also guilty of this, not having the heart to send [Patamon] back to his card immediately. Eventually, he did call him back, and went to his Introduction to Magic class.

The situation for this particular class was unique.

The professor of Introduction to Magic was Professor Cazer, a master alchemist with goblin blood. However, as magic technology gradually replaced ancient alchemy, Professor Cazer's status had become a bit awkward.

Still, it did not prevent him from being extremely proficient when it came to magic.

In his first class, Professor Cazer did not mention profound information about magic, and introduced only some basic facts about magic cards to the students.

Magic cards were divided into five categories, namely, spirit cards, magic spell cards, item cards, field spell cards and arcana force cards.

In addition to this, there were divine cards and mystical cards!

A divine card was a card with "divine power".

Mystical card meant "the cards of the unknown"!

Professor Cazer mainly talked about spirit cards in this class. A spirit card was a magic card that could summon magical spirits!

The spirit card mainly had seven sets of data.

①Real name: Only when the real name was called, could the magical spirit be summoned.

②Level: The spirit level was represented by the number of stars. Normal summoning could only summon spirits with one to four stars, and special summons with advanced levels were necessary to summon those with four or more stars.

③Races: There were fifteen known races; human-type, sub-human-type, dragon-type, angel-type, demon-type, undead-type, element-type, fairy-type, mech-type, insect-type, reptile-type, bird and beast-type, plant-type, fish-type and godly-phantom-type.

④Attributes: There were 20 known attributes, which were normal, fire, water, electric, grass, ice, fighting, poison, ground, flying, psychic, bug, rock, ghost, dragon, dark, steel, fairy, light, and shadow.

⑤Magic energy: Magic energy referred to both health value and energy used for special moves. Once the magic energy returned to 0, the magical spirit would disappear, and it couldn't be summoned within a short period of time until the magic energy was full.

⑥Attack and defense: The spirit's attack and defense capabilities were displayed by numerical values.

⑦Ultimate, spirit skills: The release of skills required consumption of magic energy. White cards had no skills, blue cards had one skill, purple cards had two skills, and orange cards had three skills.

...

In order to make it clearer, Professor Cazer took out a spirit card and demonstrated. Unleashing a monster from his Spirit card in front of the unenthusiastic freshmen, a white python emitting cold air was summoned!

The newly summoned reptile-type, ice-attributed, four-star giant python greatly shocked those freshmen!

...

With the end of the magic introduction class, the new students rushed out of the classroom as if they were liberated and ran straight to the cafeteria in groups.

For students of this age, the magic introduction class was indeed a bit boring.

Even White felt a little bored, considering he already knew this information beforehand, but he still provided the professor his complete attention since he knew how much Professor Cazer helped Dark in the original plot.

Teachers at Saint Marian were super friendly and would be willing to lend a hand if asked. More importantly, because the background setting was basically ripped off from Harry Potter, teachers were allowed to show favoritism.

So White would rather be bored out of his mind then risk offending one of the teachers. What if he needed their help sometime in the future?

With that thought, he ushered into the third class of the day. He did well in the third class because of the modest preview.

Professor Thompson in the Potions class was not like Snape in HP. He not only praised him, but also gave him credits.

The production of magic cards required potions, so White paid great attention towards this class. But Professor Thompson did not mention the potions that interested him, so he was a bit disappointed.

After the three classes, whether it was a professor or a student, they all started to look at him differently, though those gazes were aimed at Dark as well.

The gazes directed at him showed signs of admiration, While Demon was looked at with expressions surprise.

They could only think that both of them really deserved to be the blood of the [Dual Swords], the [Hero] and the [Valkyrie].

He and Emma decided to study some more and entered the library. Of course, Dark Demon had, made it their first, and was currently hiding behind a bookshelf.

White almost laughed when he witnessed this, but kept his mouth shut. The lengths Dark had to go through to stop his Sin values from increasing were truly amazing.

Dark couldn't even get near Pandora, the mature and busty librarian capture target, without increasing his [Lust] value. But he couldn't just leave either, as without books to occupy his time, his [Sloth] value would increase.

Thankfully, White found that his values were easy lose, but very difficult to increase, which was the opposite of Dark's system.

So, unlike a certain transmigrated villain, he didn't need to play hide and seek with the librarian to fight against his fate and spent most of his time chatting with Emma.

He had invited Justin, but the guy was too busy practicing the sword with some of the House members. He did say he would join the next time, however.

"Is there a floor plan for the library?"

White took out the sorting card and instilled the magic energy into it. The sorting card perceived his thoughts and drew out the floor plan of the library on the surface of the card.

The Saint Marian Academy's library had only one floor, but each shelf was terribly high. The college adopted a physical isolation method, placing the more profound books at the top.

If you don't have the ability to fly, you won't be able to touch those esoteric books.

But White's familiar spirit had wings, which was an advantage!
