Chapitre 59: Green Hell, Part 3.

The wolves continued to chase after the lion that abducted Ahri. Lanius, Xayah and Rakan were less than a meter behind the wolves and the rest followed, a bit further behind.

"Lanius, guys...can you wait for us?!" Akali asked.

"I'm afraid that we'll lose them if we do." Kayn replied. "You gotta keep up, Akali!"

Ahri opened her eyes in a daze. She seemed to be lifted by somebody, as she could see the ground below her move at a steady pace.

The vesani struggled to move her hands, but they were tied behind her back so tight that the ropes hurt her wrists. Same thing could be said about her legs, so she gave up on struggling and tried to scream, but to no avail, as something sealed her mouth, only allowing her to let out muffled growls.

The lion chuckled as he carried her on his shoulder. "Wakey, wakey. You might wonder why you're still alive. Well, I intend to keep you alive as a trophy. I might even find another use of you."

"Gw twh hmghll!" the vesani cursed at him. She couldn't believe this... This whole damsel in distress ordeal didn't suit her, especially since it happened twice in two weeks.

"Sounds like a yes to me." the Hunter chuckled again.

Ahri grit her teeth. The hunter must have distanced himself a lot from the others. All that she could now do was hope that the collar would somehow get loose, or that the others would find her.

"My Yunalai, I hear commotion from behind and to our left!" Bayal exclaimed.

"I heard it too, Bayal. Stay sharp." Qiyana told the servant.

Qiyana moved quickly. She would dispatch them one after the other and get done.

She stopped and signaled Bayal to also stop. She jumped on a nearby branch and peeked from its leaves. Two giant ice wolves passed from below her. Qiyana looked at them vanish into the jungle. Then, a human and two vastaya that rushed behind them at a frantic pace. The human looked enraged and held a weird pole-axe weapon made out of ice.

"An ice mage?" she thought. "This is going to be interesting."

She watched again, as two more humans and another vastaya passed from below her, following the first three.

Qiyana counted to twenty-five and jumped from the tree, where she moved towards Bayal. "I found them. Return to the city, I'll handle them myself."

"My Yunalai, it is too dangerous..." Bayal tried to protest, but she already disappeared, so the servant sighed and walked back to the capital.

Qiyana moved stealthily behind the foreigners. Just the thought of getting praised for defeating them caused her to feel butterflies in her stomach and a wide smirk formed in her face.

The wolf dashed through the jungle. It let out short growls as the terrain in front and around it passed by it.

The other wolf had turned right and disappeared from its sigh a few seconds ago, but the wolf didn't care. It didn't have any sentience of its own anyway...or it rather had to a small degree. It existed solely to carry out the Winter's objectives, but it had a small autonomy concerning how it would do so.

The wolf finally caught up to them. The lion vastaya was running on the ground, with Ahri on his shoulder. The wolf sped up at an alarming speed towards them. The vesani raised her head towards it as she heard the sound, and her eyes widened as the wolf was ready to jump on the hunter.

The wolf aimed for the other shoulder in order to not hit her, opened its mouth...and jumped.

Ahri's eyes widened as the wolf pounced on top of the hunter. The vesani was thrown forward as the ice beast collided with the hunter. Ahri crashed on the ground with a series of groans.

The vesani then felt a few thuds behind her, followed by a misty breath and pressure on her necks, then at the rope around her hands. Same thing for the rope around her ankles, prompting her to turn around after removing the cloth on her mouth. Obe of the ice wolves was standing in front of her.

"Vitiate!" Ahri exclaimed as she stroke the wolf's snout counter clockwise in an effort to both calm herself down and the thank the wolf.

Not only had the young man named the two canine summons, but he had also marked them respectively, in order to recognise them.

Vitiate, the one that freed Ahri, had a star mark on its forehead, while Riker, the one that pounced on the hunter, had a snowflake on its forehead.

Ahri turned her attention towards the hunter.

The hunter quickly got up with a roar and grabbed his weapon, some sort of cutlass, from his back. He then was ready to charge at the vesani, but both Riker and Vitiate got in front of her to shield her.

"Well...well, fox demon. I though I had you a few seconds ago. This hunt will be very interesting."

Ahri deviously smiled as she opened her tails like a fan and simultaneously thought "If he pictures me as a demon, I shall play that part till the end. For once I will not feel guilt!". She signaled the wolves to sit and stepped forward as she summoned her orb.

"Do you really wish to challenge me, mere mortal vastaya?" she asked "For I shall show no mercy to neither you, nor your soul, unless you kneel and beg for forgiveness!" Ahri was lifted a few inches from the ground.

The hunter's eye dilated in ecstasy. "Ask for forgiveness? You're joking. I'll take you down demon. Your tails will be hung on my wall! I, Rengar, the relentless Hunter, shall defeat you!" the hunter exclaimed.

"Bring it on then, hunter!" Ahri said, also being consumed by ecstasy.

The hunter let out a battle cry as he charged at her.

Ahri did the same.

"AAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

Lanius and the rest came into a hault as a large wall out of ice erupted from the ground below them. "What?!"

"What is going on?!" Rakan asked.

"I have no idea...I didn't do that though." Lanius replied.

At that instant, another one composed of stone formed in between them, separating Lanius, Xayah and Rakan from the rest. A third wall out of stone formed on their left, Xayah rushed towards the right, only to hit her shoulder on another ice wall that trapped them. The trio was completely confined in a big box of ice and stone.

"You certainly didn't." Xayah muttered as she rubbed her shoulder.

"I did it! As I will also be the last thing you all see, vile intruders!" a female voice sounded from above the ice wall, prompting the trio to look up.

A medium sized figure stood on top of the wall, holding a circular weapon. It was mostly obscured by the sun and therefore neither of the three could see any characteristics.

"You've made a great mistake when you set foot on Ixtal. Because those that find Ixtal do not live to speak of it..." the figure spoke.

Lanius just stared at the figure. He didn't quite hear what she said, his mind was on Ahri.
