Chapitre 5: Chapter 5 – Just like old times.

In a black Rolls Royce, Sabrina was listening to her favorite song, constantly interrupted by the man beside her. "I asked what gave you the courage to leave him finally and why did you stop me from beating him up?"

Sabrina froze, contemplating on whether or not she could trust him again. Devin was her half-brother. Same mother, different father. Since he was the only boy among two girls, he inherited his father's fashion design company, sending it to a new level all together. Devin had always dotted on Sabrina and was never in support of her marriage to Robin, for which reason Sabrina was reluctant to let it out.

"He brought a pregnant woman to live in the same house with us. He wants me to take care of her because he is the father of the child she is carrying." She left the identity of the Zayla, knowing that Devin might cause problems for her.

Devin hit the steering wheel with his hand, Sabrina jolted from the impact, surprised. "The fucken son of bitch. I knew I should have killed him," Devin cursed with regret. He loved his half-sister so much that it was hard for him to move on without her even with Sabrina's junior sister, Lizzy being there.

"He isn't worth it," Sabrina sighed and rubbed the back of his hand on the steering wheel. It was good that he was not speeding.

"Well, I'm glad it happened. If not, how could I have had you back?" Devin smiled. He wanted to see his sister happy again and he was going to do just that. Sabrina smiled in return. This was all so familiar. Devin being overly protective of her. She shook her head and said,

"You are so silly."

"I always knew you were too good for him. I will take good care of you; you will never think about his existence ever again," Devin assured her. Sabrina smiled awkwardly, not knowing if she should reveal the news of her pregnancy to him.

Almost an hour later, Devin pulled over.

"Where are we?" Sabrina asked, her eyes widening at the skyscraper in front of her. She lost the vibe to tell Devin about her pregnancy when she had not had a doctor's confirmation.

"You don't know? You will see when we get there."

Devin had a smirk in the corner of his lips which got Sabrina snooping. Anytime he had that smirk on, then he was up to something. It was all so familiar from the past and she missed it so much.

Devin led her elegantly through the reception area to the elevator, heads continuously turning in their way. When they stepped out of the elevator, Devin knocked on the door before pushing it open, Sabrina almost cried.

"Lizzy!!"

Sabrina exclaimed when the slim figure sitting on the executive chair rushed to hug her. The embrace was so tight and the two women were shedding tears. Devin stood there awkwardly in annoyance. He felt left out in the sweet reunion.

"It's three of us you know," he chimed and tried to join when Lizzy pushed him away.

"Just stay away," Lizzy scoffed before pulling away and looking at her big sister again. "The asshole. What has he done to you?" She raged.

News about Robin and women was not new and everyone knew about it. Lizzy was helpless all the time since Sabrina had refused to leave the toxic marriage. Sabrina smiled as she ogled at the office. Her family's company, which she thought had died had rather grown. Sighing, she responded thoughtfully,

"He did nothing Lizzy; I was foolish to love him." Tears sprouted from her eyes and Lizzy's heart ached. She wished she could send Robin ten feet to the grave but that was not possible for someone like her. Robin was still a business progeny and more powerful than them.

"You've lost so much because of him and he dares to treat you like this?" Lizzy shook her head in dismay. Her sister's marriage was so unattractive that she never gave in to any man. It was better to preserve her heart than to have it broken.

"It's all in the past, Lizzy, Sabrina James is a fighter," Sabrina vowed. When both Lizzy and Devin realized that she was using her maiden name, they smiled in satisfaction. The Jewels were dead to them.

"I just wish that mum was here to witness this day," Lizzy said with a faraway look in her eyes. Their mother had Devin before marrying their father, after she lost her first husband in a plane crash. When Lizzy was six, their mother passed away from cancer and their father never remarried.

Naturally, Devin inherited his father's fortune when he turned eighteen. Whereas he has been very generous to the family and overly protective of Lizzy and Sabrina. Still, Lizzy felt that he loved Sabrina more, which was indeed true. Sabrina was the first sister he had before Lizzy so they naturally bonded and not even Lizzy could come between them.

"I believe that she's still watching over us from wherever she is," Devin hugged his sisters with a sad countenance. He loved his mother so much but she had to die so early.

"And dad?" Sabrina asked expectantly, her emotions out of place. She did not know how her father was going to feel about her return but was ready to make it up to him.

"In a meeting with some of the company's high-profile clients."

Sabrina felt lost. The last time she recalled, her family's business was just a small one and her father helped to force her marriage with Robin, so that Robin's father could help to expand it. Now, it was way larger than she imagined, when her father had pulled out of the business deal with Robin's father before his passing away.

"How did it happen? The company had been sold."

Lizzy smiled. "Well, we did that before daddy reached out for you to leave Robin. We did not want him to come back to lay claims so he declared the company bankrupt and put it up for sale. Then we bought it back in Devin's name. Good thing Devin uses his late father's surname."

Sabrina was nodding the whole time, feeling relieved. Robin would never be able to lay claims to this company, not even knowing about its existence. "I'm so glad. I was afraid."

"No. JC Minerals is doing better than you think," Lizzy said assuringly. She was about to say more but Devin interrupted,

"Brina, have you had breakfast already?" He asked worriedly, knowing that Sabrina might not have appetite. He was not going to let her starve because of an unworthy ex-husband. When Sabrina called him last night which was the first time in two years, he guessed that something had happened and it was indeed true.

"No," Sabrina said honestly. She just did not have the appetite.

"Then let's have brunch at the cafeteria," Lizzy suggested. Having had three cups of coffee, she needed to eat something too but Devin had a better idea.

"No, I will take you both to my favorite restaurant."

Lizzy rolled her eyes and asked, "Where the least dish cost $2,000? What a waste?"

"It's my treat for gaining back my lost sister," Devin shrugged. He had money and was making more so why not spend it? That was what money was meant for.

"Since you are paying, we are eating," Lizzy shrugged before glancing at her sister again in admiration. She was just happy to be reunited with Sabrina. The trio arrived at the restaurant and when Sabrina saw the menu, she paled.

"Isn't it too much?"

"Nothing is too much for my baby sis," Devin boasted and waved at the waiter. Lizzy pouted. She just knew that now that Sabrina was back, she would not have Devin all to herself like before.

"I took care of you when she was away."

"And now she's back," Devin teased and Lizzy laughed. She felt her bladder full and said when the waiter arrived,

"I will use the ladies' room but I want items number 5,6 and 9."

Sabrina gulped. Her kid sister must be having a huge appetite or she just wanted to break Devin's bank account. "Do you want to render him bankrupt?"

"Take it as his punishment for ignoring me. 15k for brunch is nothing to him," Lizzy said and stood up. She had blonde hair like that of Sabrina. Then she added, "You have no idea how much money he has." That said, she hastened to the washroom.

Sabrina was reluctant to place her order so Devin ordered her favorite dishes. Even with that, she was still afraid to dig in when she saw the prices attached to the dishes, he ordered for her. Devin was displeased.

Sabrina was married to the billionaire Robin but she was too modest for his liking. He took her cutlery and began to feed her. Sabrina welcomed every bite he brought to her mouth, reminiscing on the old times when he used to feed her like this. Now she was wondering how she was able to live with Robin when he never gave her attention. Love was indeed to blind.

Intermittedly, a tall attractive figure walked into the restaurant with a woman. His eyes darted around and seemingly landed on a familiar silhouette. He wasted no time, hastening to the elegant table where she sat with a man feeding her. His face contoured with disgust as he roared,

"Sabrina Jewel, what are you doing here with a man? And where is your husband, Robin?"
