Chapitre 6: Chapter 6: Summarizing

Ancestral Memory. A wealth of information on all aspects of life. Including the experience of a huge number of cultivators, some of whom reached the pinnacle of power in their time. Ancestral cultivation techniques, perfectly suited to a renewed bloodline. Even if only basic techniques were available to him now, it was still a huge advantage since he no longer needed a teacher. And he didn't depend on others to find cultivation techniques for the next level. In fact, it was a direct path to the top, equivalent to the legacy of the world's best sects.

Bloodline Purification. This unique racial trait allowed one to raise one's potential a notch with each Bloodline Purification. It might not have been relevant to pure-blooded members of the race, but for half-bloods like him, it was a truly divine ability.

But there were disadvantages to the Fa-Al race as well. The first disadvantage was that their cultivation system was completely different from that of humans. The main focus of this race's cultivation was the mental, the mind. In this aspect, purebloods could even argue with divine beasts. The second most important was the cultivation of the body, the talent in which was only slightly inferior to the main direction.

But Fa-Al's Qi cultivation talent was not just inferior to the first two. It was consistently worse than the average human. And in millions of years of history, there was not a single exception to this rule.

On the other hand, a mentalist who could take control of a horde of beasts or a crowd of cultivators, and had a stunning physical body as well, was already a nightmare for many cultivators. This was the reason why the race's reputation among the devoted was at an all-time high.

The second disadvantage, the low birth rate, was irrelevant for now.

There were also two points that initially attracted Yee Rhys to this race. And it was them that made him go into direct conflict to keep his secret.

First, the race was small, secretive, now officially extinct. In other words, it was only possible to find any information about them by chance. And even if he told everything directly, no one would be able to verify anything. So, the first advantage was extreme obscurity. Because of that, no one knew what to expect from these guys.

Second, the secrecy of the race. Although the first generations existed openly and had equal contact with other races, their descendants were forced into hiding. Over time, hiding racial traits became habitual and a matter of course. Techniques of concealment and disguise were perfected over thousands of years and eventually achieved frightening effectiveness, allowing cultivators to fool others even two or three realms higher in level even with close observation.

That is, once Yee Rhys reaches the first mental sphere, he will be able to hide his racial traits and only cultivators of the sect's patriarch level will be able to distinguish him from an ordinary person. Or those who know what to look for.

In the aggregate, to those around him he will remain an ordinary man. But the young man's real fighting power will lie on a very different plane from what is expected.

Even if his "patrons" find out the truth, they would rather kill the overly talented young man themselves than reveal his secret.

Checking his body's pitiable condition once more, Yee Rhys finally confirmed that his dantian had been unblocked, marking the end of the merge. True, his cultivation level had rolled back to zero. And his talent was probably down, too. Well, there were no illusions here to begin with.

The body, on the other hand, was frankly a joy. Like magical beasts, Fa-Al's body cultivation level automatically adjusted to the level of the main cultivation (mental), always staying behind by one sphere. Those who wanted more could additionally cultivate the body, thankfully there were suitable techniques available. Even "pure" mentalists had tremendous power because of this effect, which was especially noticeable at the higher levels.

For now, the young man was more interested in another effect. The novice mentalists were very weak. Apparently, to compensate for this weakness, the young Fa-Al had a body two stages higher than their current mental level. However, this only applied to the first sphere, the Five Currents. From the second sphere, the Seven Rings, the body level was already equalized with the mental cultivation. And from the third sphere, Two Snowflakes, it began to lag behind.

Also Yee Rhys checked his mind. After all, it was now his main working tool instead of a dantian. There was a message in the mind. Judging by the aura, it was also part of the legacy.

He was still trying to decide if he should watch it now or postpone it for a longer period, but his ears caught light footsteps in the sound of the rain. The quiet rustle of gravel was replaced by confident footsteps on the stone. Three stairs and a couple more steps.

- I know you have regained consciousness. - Dra Jae informed him loudly.

And Rhys grinned mentally. What's the point if he can't move a finger?

Something jabbed at his leg. Oh, Lady, your shoes have very sharp toes.

- Well. - Apparently the Grand Elder realized the boy wasn't faking.

A nourishing pill flew into the mouth. Nourishing warmth spread over his body and immediately absorbed like a drop of water into a dry sponge the size of a brick. Opening his eye, Rhys looked around once more. The lady was out of sight.

- Jerk. - Beauty understood the situation. - Why to exhaust yourself like that! To deplete all reserves to the drop. Firstly, you were almost dying for three days, so I do not know how you survived at all. Then laid there for another 24 hours without feeling anything. And now you can't even move! Even a three-year-old could stab you right now without even trying.

The Grand Elder was raging. Nevertheless, another pill was taken in his mouth. followed by a second. And a third...

At about the tenth Yee Rhys found the strength to move. It's a good thing there are such pills. Without them, on porridges and teas, it would take him a month to recover, no less.

On the fifteenth pill he raised his head.

On the twenty-first he sat down.

The Lady stood before him with a bottle of pills in her hands. Right now she eerily reminded him of a viper: just as graceful and just as venomous.

- Healed up, wretched hero? - She hissed, barely suppressing the urge to smear her ward into a thin pancake on the countertop. She may have been born a woman, but Dra Jae had never known pity or compassion. It was the worst torture she had ever known, tending with the sick and injured.

- A little. - Yee Rhys split his lips open. His voice was hoarse and slurred.

- Glad to see it. - The elder involuntarily released a particle of aura, causing her hair to lift and her clothes to flutter.

The young man, on the other hand, felt a growing dizziness from the sudden pressure. He fainted violently and fell off the table.

- You little wimp!

***

Coming back to himself was as sharp as a bucket of water on his head. And the first sensation was a throbbing pain in the right side of his head.

Looking around, Yee Rhys realized that he was floating in the air above the very table from which he had recently fallen. And standing at the entrance, Lady is staring at him like a rare bug, which she dreams of carefully pinning with a thin pin to a thick cardboard. Except the bug is not hers, and the owner prefers to keep his treasure alive in a jar.

- Well, you are our useless treasure, - frowned the beauty, - now you are of little use. So, go back to the Roasting room. You'll serve your time there, you'll eat your pills, and then we'll be able to talk.

Immediately after finishing her speech, the Elder waved her hand. An obedient breeze picked the young man up and dragged him across the half of the sect back to the Roasting room, where he was tossed into an already comfortable cage. A vial of pills landed nearby.

At the same time, Jade flew over to the responsible Elder with an explanation of what to do next. The Elder studied the order, looked at the Untouchable, and, after much thought, sent him a jug of water. Technically, the punishment was not interrupted, and the Elder did not dare to check whether the special prisoner was ill from dehydration or not.

Yee Rhys stretched out exhausted on the floor grate. It wasn't a pleasant place to be, but they wouldn't let him rot if they wanted to. The collar wouldn't let him get sick. And the end of his seizures was a bliss. All that's left to do is to eat a little and lie down.

There were five days of punishment. Two were over. Three to go. By the way, he was out for three days of seizures and a day of unconsciousness. This means, the others should have been out 24 hours ago. But there's still six of the old crew here. It turns out, a lot of them being aired.

Relieved, Rhys closed his eyes and fell into a healing sleep.
